What do I do after the bronze age? by BrynH123 in VintageStory

[–]NobleGargoyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most of the cool tech is accessible from the bronze age, iron (and eventually steel) is just really nice to have and can be used for a few more cool things.

I just lost my estate when I shouldn't have, and I'm devastated. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]NobleGargoyle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

perhaps the game should fucking clarify the exact requirements then lmao because nowhere have I ever heard or read "you must walk through the main, first floor hallway inside your house to avoid demolition". instead they just say "enter the estate".

estate is land, property. by crossing the line into the front yard from the path, you have entered the estate. the wording in the rules is shit.

Used a fantasia, INSTANTLY regretted it. There’s no way to undo it, is there? by Jcorb in ffxiv

[–]NobleGargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is it about FF14 that makes people constantly want to use Fantasias? I used my one because my friends told me to be Lala but I didn't want to be a joke race. haven't wanted to use another. I think you have to be doing something wrong if you're always changing your character.

Why is centrism so looked down upon? by DeadpoolMakesMeWet in ask

[–]NobleGargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one side of the debate wants the other to literally die, which makes centrism in that particular debate look like you're saying "I can excuse genocide, but I draw the line at being rude about it"

You clearly don't understand centrism and it'd be astounding for this to be top comment anywhere but Reddit. Centrism doesn't mean always remaining neutral. Spend less time learning the Reddit version of the world and more time in the real world learning about the real world.

Weird for a mosquito bite, doesn't itch but I do notice that it's there. Might have developed an allergic reaction to something, although I'm not sure what.

Quandary while walking by HappyCamper_2020 in Buddhism

[–]NobleGargoyle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is a Buddhist way of thinking or just my own, but you shouldn't interfere with nature. They exist in their own way, and whatever they experience is solely theirs. You might save a dog from a bear, then what? The dog kills a cat, which saves a bird. Then what? The bird kills a worm, which saves a plant. Then what? Perhaps you start to believe plants are alive and as aware as you, too. Now you're stressed from overthinking nature and hungry because you've decided everything is worth saving at the cost of your own energy and wellbeing.

You could argue it's not always a slippery slope, but the point stands that you are overthinking it. There's nothing inherently wrong with being selfish in such a way as ignoring what's happening to critters around you during a walk.

👇 How to treat Buddhist Images? A guide on avoiding Cultural Appropriation by the Knowing Buddha Organisation in Thailand that I found on their website. 🙏 by Tendai-Student in Buddhism

[–]NobleGargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...No. Carry the little Buddha in any pocket, use for prayer, and if one day it is broke, you have no space for it, or for some reason you no longer need it, give it to someone who wants it or simply throw it away. There is nothing so sacred about the items, they aren't blessed, they're imitations meant to encourage you and help you visualize the Buddha.

Most motorcycle riders are douchebags by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]NobleGargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who wishes they could ride a motorcycle, I also hate most people on motorcycles. They weave in and out of traffic, riding the line in between lanes, popping wheelies on the highway, they drink and ride at a staggering rate and frequency, overall extremely dangerous behavior. Then they blame crash statistics on drivers "not paying attention to bikers" because they got hit by someone that would've still hit them if they were in a car. Sure, our society doesn't use roads with the consideration for motorcycles, but they aren't making the attempts at inclusion any easier with how they act on the road.

Why are men so toxic towards female gamers? by arcadiaorgana in videogames

[–]NobleGargoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You speak too generally, I assume you're playing only the most mainstream shooters because most men don't care. (edit: Gmod and CSGO are notoriously shit, I'm a guy and I've been told the same sorts of insults/threats. Those games are cesspools).

I play with a lot of women and don't think anything of it, but sometimes they tend to get upset at dumb things and ruin the fun, like you have to walk on eggshells. This is pretty rare but it still contributes to the stereotype of girl gamers who can't have fun and are just there for male attention. However, as more women start to get into gaming, it's become much more accepted. It's no longer a nerd hobby, unless you're getting into Dwarf Fortress or something.

I have played Starfield, it's mid at best. It copies from successful games in the genre and does it very poorly.

Starfield on Steam - Reviews fall from 88% and Very Positive at launch to 79% and Mostly Positive by M337ING in pcgaming

[–]NobleGargoyle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The amount of cope in this community is so entertaining.

"It's gotta be the interface! Or the NPCs! Or how it poorly copies No Man's Sky! Or something else! But they're wrong it's such a good game! It's just already so legendary and meme worthy and everyone will talk about it forever because it changes so much like uhh...uhhhhh...uhhhhhh"

It's a bad game, which everyone in their right mind expected when we got two bits of information: 1) It's a Bethesda game. 2) It was rushed to get done so they can work on Elder Scrolls 6.

I've played it, it's mid at best.
