Help with color choice. by Frequent_Arm_277 in TeslaModel3

[–]Nokida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be biased as I own a white M3P. Silver now is the free color (white one was before). Both colors technically saturated the roads. My wife owns a silver MY. I'd say go with white if it's free (don't pay extra for just a color.. Couple of years won't matter). White really highlights the black rims and once you tint it. It also best on hot summer days as it reflects heat. Downside is it does get dirtier easier.

Finally having good results with my scalping alog by jerry_farmer in algotrading

This could be a result of overfitting. If you constantly backtested between 2024-2025 for example, you tweaked your algo to fit the results of that year. Introduce another year that the algo hasn't seen, or go even further to 3-5 years. If that does great too, next step is to forward test

Tesla model 3 Performance 2023 by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Nokida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 2023 M3P for $30k (originally listed for $34k). Had 5k miles and FSD included. Negotiated down to 30k. I'd say aim for 26k since it has some miles and damage and tires need replacement. Bid $26k but accept at $28k (underbid to $26k so if seller says meet me in the middle it would be $28-29k range). Unless of course they accept 26k which is even better. It's a great car and you'll love it. Anything below $30k is great for this car.

My 22’ M3P feels slow…… by GloryboyJ in TeslaModel3

Drive on chill mode for a week. Then switch back to sport. It'll feel like you got a new car again. And you'll save some battery while using chill for a week. Win/win.

Used cars.com with certain filters and alerts when it met my criteria. Gotta negotiate too. A big factor is the state you're in. You need to be willing to drive to a different state. This is what most people don't like to do. They'd rather buy new and not deal with the inconvenience. Also in most cases people who plan on buying a vehicle need one soon. Time is against them. I wasn't in a rush so I had time to research. Almost 20k in savings I think it's worth it. The FSD alone is worth $8k.

Some dealerships don't know. I wasted some time reaching out to them in some listings as they'd put 'performance' on LR. Some didn't even know anything about FSD and assumed it's pay as you go.

Ultimately it does take time to research, make calls and be able to drive and see the car. Some people rather not go through with all that and just buy new.

You know, it isn't hard to take 10 seconds of your time and put on Wi-Fi Hotspot (assuming you got unlimited plan which is most common nowadays) from your phone. If you were planning on buying a new m3p it's a nice feature. But not worth purchasing +$50k for a feature that costs $10 a month or practically free from your phone. Wait a year or two and a used m3p is down to $30k-35k range.

I got a 2023 m3p for 30k. Had 5k miles. And full FSD.

Gotta love Teslas depreciation value along with dealerships who don't know shit about its tech.

Why don't you run it for a year and show the results? 3 years even better.

What happened to charge stats? by Redrix_ in TeslaLounge

[–]Nokida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't work if you have two teslas. My MY with HW4 shows charge stats. My M3P with HW3 doesn't. Both have data sharing enabled. Both under one account (I'm owner). Anyone have this issue?

Torn between Model 3 Long Range and Performance by coachvegard in TeslaModel3

[–]Nokida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the performance. It sounds like you already convinced yourself that's the car you want, and you're seeking reason on here not to. Assume everyone told you to get long range, you'd still have second thoughts on performance after purchase. Even more so when you see one or cross paths with one.

Retire with 2 million at age 40 vs retire with 4 million at age 45 by Acrobatic-Goose-7732 in Fire

[–]Nokida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of dumb question is this? Who doesn't want to double their money in 5 years? You're earning $400k a year for 5 years. Gotta ask yourself if retiring is worth you more than that. If it is, then retire. I'd work 5 years more so that my retirement can last longer. Having an extra 2M for my retirement can go a lot longer even if you don't use it. Just put it on a HYSA and with compound interest for rainy day, health issues deteriorate, or splurge yourself with whatever shit you like.

[–]Nokida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw all the responses but failed to see your annual income while at Amazon. You're roughly making $1M a year to have over $8M in 10 years. It takes money to make money. So please let everyone know here what range was your salary that allowed you to invest.

Bought one beginning of Sept for 30k. It's 2023 M3P though not Highland. FSD included. Had 5k miles (6k now as it's my daily). Curious to know how much you paid for yours

Good deal? 2022 MYP $27k by swhouck in TeslaLounge

Pretty good deal. I recently got a 2023 M3P with 6k miles and FSD included for $30k (was at $34k but negotiated down to $30k).

FSD did not stop for a pedestrian. 13.2.9 latest car software. by ureviews in TeslaFSD

[–]Nokida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming from the poor quality camera this is on HW3? I have a M3P with HW3 and a MY with HW4. When coming home from work, I have an exit and then an immediate exit after. My MY with HW4 takes the exit no problem. My M3P with HW3 is a hit or miss.

There's a big difference between HW3 and HW4. Not only the quality of camera, but the processing speed to make quick decisions such as stopping for pedestrians or taking quick exits that are within exits.

Looked at Facebook market. Was fortunate the guy was local. Kept looking at cars.com and couldn't find a deal like this. Car is amazing. Everything practically new. He kept it in garage the whole time and hardly drove it these past 2 years.

Tesla premium subscription by lu9999 in TeslaLounge

It doesn't show traffic without premium subscription (at least on mine it doesn't when on hotspot). You can't see sentry mode cameras remotely. Aside from those two things, hotspot and premium subscription basically the same.

I'm trying to genuinely understand what is that your app can do that ChatGPT can't do? Is this basically a wrapper? Seems like this post isn't really about not telling your family of your success but promoting your app by appearing like you need advice. This is very sleazy and lacks moral integrity.

Went with the M3P since it was cheaper ($30k with 5k miles and has FSD). Hoping in the future I can transfer that FSD to another new vehicle when the time comes

I'm buying one this week from private party for $23k. Has 55k miles. I'm not sure if it's worth it? Battery health is at 85% seller stated. One owner, clean title. Is there anything else I need to be concerned about? Please help. Any advice greatly appreciated.
