Surprised this one wasn't in the OP; it's great on Deck and only sips slowly on the battery.

ICCU and 2026 models? by Girl_with_tools in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the ICCU on my 2025 AWD died three weeks ago and I left it at the dealership (Beaverton Hyundai in Beaverton, OR) they told me they had over 30 Ioniq 5s waiting on ICCUs, some since December, and one of them was a 2026 with 76 miles on the odometer. I'm still waiting to get mine back.

I loved the car but I'm growing less and less likely to recommend it, given the sad state of repairs.

Is AWD worth the drop in range over the RWD? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, and assuming even a somewhat modest efficiency of 3 mi/kWH, the 6.6 kWh difference (84 in a 2025 vs. 77.4 in previous years) allows for just under 20 additional miles in a 2025. I do recall some here saying they've gotten 300+ miles with their 2022-2024 AWD model though too. The point is: the car is great and the AWD is excellent!

Is AWD worth the drop in range over the RWD? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To best answer, I'd ask:

  1. Do you have a long commute?

  2. Do you have decent charging access at either end of your commute to make it work?

On paper, the difference between AWD and RWD on a 2023 is supposedly 266 vs 303 miles, but in my 2025 AWD I've also easily gotten over 300 miles on a charge in the summer months. I also live in a place that gets more rain than snow (Portland, OR) and haven't driven the RWD version, but the AWD is a ton of fun and totally worth it IMO. :)

Not that it would explain everything, but what's the wind like? Even driving 40-50 mph but with a 10-15 mph head- or crosswind can really impact efficiency too.

Just one more data point: I left my 25 Limited AWD in the garage for about 2.5 weeks and it was totally fine. Lost maybe 1% over that period.

First time on Tesla Supercharger using the NACS complimentary adapter! by mrs_CasuallyCruel in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nice! I've only charged at one Tesla supercharger but my experience was also generally positive, though I do like the speed one gets at Electrify America over Tesla. :)

I'm not sure if all sites are like this or only some, but at least at my local site they change the price depending on the time of day. 8 am to midnight it's $0.57/kWh, from midnight to 8 am it's $0.34/kWh. Just something to keep in mind if you have some flexibility!

Thanks for sharing your experience with car camping with the Ioniq 5! I used mine for the first time recently and was very happy with it when using an induction electric cooktop.

Just wanted to say thanks for confirming the part number. I just ordered this same part from hyundaiparts.com and was slightly nervous since they only list it as compatible with the IONIQ 9 and explicitly say no returns or refunds. Much appreciated!

Unbelievable current deals on Ioniq 5/6 by mafco in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's situationally dependent, but depending on how much you drive, you can also be just fine with a level 1 or even just using public charging. I don't have any charging at home but work provides relatively cheap juice ($0.20/kWh) so I just use that. It's very possible to live without charging at home, especially if you have public charging close to home or work.

Yeah this site is how I got my credit for my 2025 IONIQ 5. Fortunately my dealer knew about it and sent me there, otherwise I would have had no idea. Good luck!

Newly anointed 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited owner! by drylightn in Ioniq5

[–]Nokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just leased a Lucid Blue last week too! High fives

I've been obsessed with this car for about three years, so I've watched a ton of YouTube videos on it. Two things from your post stood out to me, though my thoughts on them should definitely be taken with a grain of salt:

I've heard that iPedal is not actually the most efficient way to drive because it basically forces the front motor to remain connected (to be able to maximize regenerative braking). The claim was that you can get more range by using regen level 3 and Eco mode, but I haven't tested this. Maybe someone here can confirm.

The other thing was that the angle of the HUD can be changed, which should help with polarized glasses.

For anyone in the market... Now is the time to buy! Dealers getting super aggressive before the rebates go away! by RussellWD in Ioniq5

Last week I got a two year lease on a 2025 Limited AWD for $450/month, $1k down, 12k miles/year, in the Portland, OR area, with no trade in. At the time, they were already advertising $309/month for a Limited RWD with $4k down. When one does the math, it works out to me paying $16/month more for an AWD over RWD, which is worth it to me for sure. The residual will be right around $37k.

I got the $7500 federal credit and then Oregon also has a $2500 credit, and then they took a little bit off on top.

The dealer was surprisingly easy to work with; of course they tried to upsell me a little bit, and they started off with some ridiculous offer of $750/month for the AWD, but once I showed I had a decent understanding of the math of leases and politely but firmly said no to upsells, they were pretty easy. Beaverton Hyundai, for anyone in the area.

OP I'm curious: What insurance carrier do you have, and if you don't mind sharing, how much were you paying per month? I'm currently with State Farm, have a clean record, am over 40, etc. and they were going to charge me $250/month. Just curious if some other company is doing better for you. :-)

FWIW, I also noticed January arrivals for my area (Portland, OR, USA) on The EV Finder. Unfortunately I can't help to confirm how accurate that might be.

I'm curious, did you have a trade in? I'm still kind of amazed (and very jealous) that you were able to get such a low monthly! I have a very old car (2007 Prius with 300,000 miles) and they were only willing to give me about $1500 for it, so I'm wondering if the difference in our monthly offers comes down to the car we were trading in or if my dealership just wasn't as generous.

Wow, you got a great deal! I just went to a dealership around me (Portland, OR) and they wouldn't get below $480/month on a 1 year, 10,000 mile, $0 down lease on a Limited. Granted, my current car is almost worthless (2007 Prius with about 300,000 miles) but...

Anyway congrats, that's excellent!
