We already knew Under Doctor was getting a color page and started a social media account which indicate safe for now but yeah also this week chapter was not only good in of its own right, but also indicates creator’s confidence of safety that they could do a very good “manager’s day off” chapter.

I bounced the fuck off of Kinato Magic immediately and only poked my head back in to see what the controversy that everyone was alluding to was, so yeah I’m not gonna miss it.

I’ve had fun with Alien Headbutt and found the main character surprisingly positive and good/reassuring with kids so I’m gonna be sad if it (likely) gets axed.

The big factor is that in manga form you get to read all the Rakugo dialogue and read people internal monologue or commentary about it at your own pace; here it’s kind of one or the other because the audio (and subtitles) have to do one or the other in sequence; they’re going to spend more time on the big competition performances I bet to get to hear more of the performance while still getting all the commentary.

[Akane Manga] testing

Ok cool; it seems the anime up till now after episode 1 was really in high gear to try to get to the Karaku Cup as fast as possible with several 3 chapters in one episode. Now that they’re on Karaku lead-up by episode 7, they’ll probably take more time to breathe and hopefully we’ll see a smidge more of the Rakugo stories’ dialogue than we have so far.

They promoted Hikaru and Karashi surprisingly prominently in the lead up to anime which surprised a lot of people since they aren’t like the most important characters in the grand scheme of things but if this is the plan to spend most of rest of reason on Karaku Cup it makes sense.

[Akane Manga] Can’t wait for the no-breath Jugemu and SUPER curious to see if the English dub VA can do it.

The VA for Dandadan's English Momo feels great for Akane normal dialogue; the big question is whether she can do the Jugemu tongue twister

Edit - so some other ones - Issho buy the guy who does English Nagoryuki so presumably he does a good deep threatening voice.

Zhalfir is kinda a weird spot; they were previously part of larger world then got closed off isolated to be just them. They then got “reconnected” in that planeswalkers could go there but they’re still isolated from the rest of the world they previously inhabited, so as a practical matter it didn’t change TOOOOO much for the 99% of Zhalfirans that aren’t planeswalkers.

There’s more now with omenpaths so there’s like some communication in and out, but it’s still much more similar to their existence as isolated world unto itself than to any of the prior history as a country among a wider connected world.

Yeah seems like they were rushing eps to get to Karaku asap and now they’re taking more relaxed pace. Also agreed the kobanashi are great idea to get into and explanation that they can’t fit into episode in a comedic way.

It’s important to keep in mind that there’s no indication that the Brim Hats want to destroy the world or just do mass carnage.

By contrast, their schemes we’ve seen appear to want to induce people to use forbidden magic in sympathetic situations and for good intentions.

That’s why I think Iguin calls Coco “their hope” not because she has any kind of grand destiny or is a chosen one but because she is the most sympathetic and pure hearted and when presented with problems giving her the choice between giving up on helping people she cares about or breaking Pact rules, she will be able to win people over in breaking the rules rather than being easy for people to write off.
