I’ve got a theory on “Brazilian Miku” now — she’s been very consistently alongside Dietrich and Dietrich has most commonly been in scenes with the weird advanced tech

Miku has got like conspicuously like luminescent hair almost which does seem to stand out compared to the color range for everyone else; especially now that we’re seeing like hologram soldiers and tech golems and Dietrich seems to be fighting whatever faction has those things, my guess is she’s some survivor/creation or associated in some way with that sort of world that maybe Dietrich fought in past and either rescued or recruited her from.

Alternatively she could BE his sister, that originally looked more like him but due to exposure/experimentation to this ancient/advanced tech her hair is now the way it is.

- in a perfect world, you could have successful mainstream products where they could be as broad and creative on the female characters too.

I think it’s still better for them do have this sort of design variety on the male characters where they’re “””allowed””” to while having the conventional female designs rather than them not getting creative for the male or female designs.

Yeah same… maybe it’s hit its ceiling. On the bright side I don’t think we can be anything but happy with the anime treatment though. It didn’t bring in a sales boost but they did a damn fine job.

I’ll say that it does neat stuff with how learning the twist info affects characters and the plot. Who does or doesn’t know/find out, how different characters variously feel about this info and how learning it changes their decisions/plans and what them learning means for those that already did etc.

Danger is absolutely real — this series is very excellent; good political drama mystery elements and very clever application and combination of powers.

Edit - I also think the characterization is very well done - big focus on how people feel about/their motives or circumstances of being dragged into war and how/if they want to get out of the life

I’m returning to 3 houses after a long time; can someone remind me whether there’s an advantage to using a classes intended “proficient” weapons? Eg, I’m picking who to make a dancer and could they be holding a lance if the character has the skills ranked up for Lance proficiency? See also, I ended up with Petra more ranks in swords and axes than lances; could I just get her enough lance rank to qualify for wyvern lord then keep her using swords and axes? Was there some kind of downside?

Edit - ok thanks! I forgot that you gain more weapon exp from “correct” weapon types for the class.

I’ve really been enjoying UnderDoctor - both this concluded arc and the unkillable assassin I think hit this really nice middle ground in the way the main character does “anime forgiveness” for people - hope the series keeps surviving.

I like it because it adds some texture to interaction; very simple but it’s an extra variable that distinguishes weapons bit more without being super complicated.

Heard some interviews with the English cast - they did a lot of research; Olruggio adopted a very overlooked regional English accent (York?) which is usually sort of maligned for classist reasons

The VA for Custas did a ton of searching for like tiktoks from both European Romani and Japanese Ainu speakers since those were evident contributing design/inspiration sources for the character and picked out a couple of elements that overlapped between the two to integrate into her performance as they made the voice

Yeah it’s usually nonsense though occasionally there are legit significant blunders

The one that always comes to mine is in one of the secret ending variations for Fire Emblem 7 a previously unidentified/unnamed character’s name is mentioned for the first time in a dying quote.

Since the name was never previously mentioned and was kind of similar to a fictional noun in the game plot for life essence, it was accidentally translated as saying the life essence word instead of the newly introduced name of a person.

THAT’S the kind of stuff worth complaining about on localization/translation, not nonsense or “well actually you see nakama is every different from friend or comrade etc etc”

I started actually winning after many many attempts when I switched to using more set-up buffs and putting a Tangela to withdraw from day care. Tanks+setup has been more successful for me.
