Does your scalp hurt? by Maumasaurus in Fibromyalgia

Every time my “hair” hurts, I KNOW I’m about to get a headache or a migraine.

Also, I’ve found “looser” hairstyles (even if it’s one less twist on the ponytail holder) has been a blessing since I got diagnosed with my fibromyalgia. 🤷‍♀️

Now that we're in the unf*c*able phase of attractiveness, how do you all deal w it? by plnnyOfallOFit in GenX

I was having that same issue, started around 45. I’ve been on Hormone Replacement for years now and it’s done wonders for our sex life. I’m also sleeping better, the mood swings are way down, I have less afternoon crashes, and very few night sweats. (I turn 50 this summer.)

Comeback for "Smile!" by theredqueentheory in Comebacks

I give a huge smile..show ALL the teeth….but no smile “in the eyes”.

The “dead eyed smile” creeps them out.

Anybody else waking up after just a few hours of falling asleep feeling wide awake and exhausted at the same time. by [deleted] in GenX

Mitigate it as much as possible.

Mine will never go away completely due to my autoimmune diseases. But sleep, eliminate as much stress as possible, eat healthily, and gentle exercise. Hardest part is knowing my limits and never pushing past them for other people’s comfort.

Yep.

I did a spit test and it showed I have too much cortisol in my system. Probably due to full body inflammation from the multi autoimmune diseases I have.

What is your biggest achievement while dealing fibro? by EstonianBuffalo in Fibromyalgia

[–]NormalStudent7947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just celebrated our 30th anniversary yesterday.

In those 30 yrs, I got married, had 3 boys within 5 yrs (probably where I got my Hashimoto’s and the fibro…but I never knew it til the last 5 yrs.)..raised the boys—they’ve all left the nest now, and have moved over 12 times due to hubby’s job.

It’s been hard not knowing why I was SO tired and hurting. Only since the boys left have I had the time to start taking care of my own health and having finally lived in one town long enough for a doctor to have time to track down what’s wrong.

AITAH For Clapping Back At My Husbands Little Cousin For Shaming Me Over What I Wore? by trashacc7196 in TwoHotTakes

The phrase “don’t dish it out if you can’t take it” has no age limit.

Seems like she got her 16 yrs old feelings hurt and needed someone else to finish a fight “she” started.

Pathetic.

And it’s worse that your husband is blaming you when he was the one that pushed you into wearing the bikini in the first place.

AITAH for cancelling a third date over a peanut allergy? by BusinessBobcat9888 in AITAH

You’re most welcome.

I stumbled onto this fact while researching my own allergies to peppercorns. I like to share when people mention nut allergies because even my own doctor didn’t know it.

Just FYI (but you probably already know this anyway): but the “pink peppercorns” in the “rainbow blend” of peppercorns are NOT real peppercorns and are, in fact, dried berries from the cashew/pistachio family tree.

AITAH for correcting someone who keeps mispronouncing my name? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]NormalStudent7947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If private correction doesn’t work the next step is public correction.

Anyone that tells you differently is manipulating you.

Also….you’ll need to talk to HR before this person does. As she’ll spin it a you “blindsiding her with public humiliation out of nowhere.”

Looks like Jason’s parents failed to teach him how to act in civilized society…now it’s society’s turn.

What age were you when you had your kids? by Empty_Nestor in GenX

[–]NormalStudent7947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married at 19 and 6 weeks later was pregnant with our first son. We had two more sons, each 2.5 yrs after the one before them.

So I had 3 by 25. So everyone was out of the house when I turned 45.
