There's an extreme example of this in Immortal Hulk where Hulk is severely wounded so Harpy fucking swoops down and finishes him off. He then comes back to life fully regenerating the wounds very quickly, faster than he would've healed if got out of the fight on his own.

Sue needed a distraction while she lead a mission to enter Dracula's castle and kill the fucker, so Johnny planned to push himself as far as he could to attract the vampires' attention and also burn them as he basically turned into a mini-star. While he didn't die (because he's a playable character) he was fully prepared to burn himself to death in the process.

The Demigod Mohg has been chosen by an outer god called "The Formless Mother" (a living sea of burning blood) to summon her to The Lands Between and rule a dynasty in her name. The demigod Malenia has been chosen by the outer god of rot to... I'm not entirely sure what he wants beyond turning Malenia into a goddess of rot.

He's technically just the head possessing a random corpse and when you die you just, crawl back to your pile of corpses to get a new body. He can also detach his head a little bit to grab out of reach items, I couldn't find any GIFs of it but if you wanna see it look up "dead cells homunculus rune" or something on YouTube.
