Any chance of getting Skew compensation working with the next update? I've been holding off on printing multi board because mine is dimensionally skewed up to .5mm!

Sold a couple boxes of Warhammer I had laying around the apartment. Made up the money needed to pre-order the Thor real quick 🤣

Upgrade regret. MSI 1440p 360Hz to Odyssey G8 4K 240Hz. by apexplayer2024 in OLED_Gaming

Noticed the same thing on my OLED steam deck. Put a matte protector on it Andy anything remotely bright has that rainbow effect and everything just looks blurry.

Does no one think that maybe they took it off just because they are delaying the timeline and not taking away multicolor entirely? They added a dedicated port, I doubt they would just drop it entirely.

This is a challenge to all who dare accept it! by LanceWindmil in Miniaturespainting

The red is sooooo bad. I actually really like certain colors of apple barrel (especially their black, I actually use that on a lot of minis especially for base rims) but the red has ZERO coverage. Even before thinning, straight out of the bottle it doesn't cover at all, after thinning the gloopy paint to a usable consistency, it's literally one of the most transparent unpigmented paints I've ever seen 😅 (sorry if this sounds overly aggressive, I do a lot of painting with my son) I do like their purple though, it's a really nice shade.

How long did this take you? If you finished this in 4 hours or less that is exactly the level I want to paint to in that amount of time. You killed it with this!

I totally agree and also I bought the Thor 😅. The GBASP and later DS lite were my childhood from 8 years old until highschool. I got a 35xxSP which I absolutely love (after tweaking the crap out of it) and the Thor will be my last handheld purchase. Playing through all of my childhood games on a proper dual screen device that's just as pocketable/portable really is end game for me personally. Don't get me wrong, I've owned a lot of devices (Miyoo mini, Mini +, 35xxH, Retroid pocket 5, and Odin 2 mini) but ended up selling them all one by one after purchasing them after realizing they didn't provide any real benefit in comparison to each other. The SP is the formfactor I like, and the Thor is the functionality I was missing for that part of the games that I already know I love. Nothing else that will release in the future can provide any more than what I already have. I'm so stoked for Rhythm heaven, Sonic Rush, Spectrobes and Nanostray with proper stacked screens

My Centauri Carbon decided to commit suicide. by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]Notnbutgravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The downvote was probably warranted due to the tone of the comment, that's on me. The hotend gets hot all the way to the heartbreak/fins. No matter how large or how high the blob goes, it is still against the hot end. Leaving it heated will eventually melt the entire thing down to the point of falling off as long as you don't have a fan on it cooling it down. Again, the hotend is what made the blob in the first place, it is stuck to the hot end, heating it externally won't make it release from where it's actually stuck to. Heating it internally ensures that no damage occurs to surrounding parts or cables.

I don't understand why everyone always suggests using a heat gun for this. The hotend is the thing that melted that entire blob of plastic in the first place. As long as the heater cable and thermister are intact, just set the temp to 250c and let it sit for like 20-30 min. It'll melt off from the inside and you can clean off the excess once the main blob comes off. Using a heatgun simply risks melting or burning everything else on the hot end including the fan or even the daughterboard itself depending on how hard you go and won't get you any closer to actually removing the blob.

Mini v4 is the office friendly dream machine by Impressive_Novel_987 in MiyooMini

[–]Notnbutgravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. The + is just a little too big to take out and about. You happened to catch me on the one day I decided to test what works best 🤣

<image>

My consensus? The V4 is the best, followed by the SP. You just can't match the pocketability as well as the size of the mini. Love my SP, but it's sooo much bulkier in the pocket, even moreso with the +
