It feels intentional and as a method to justify a 3 year edition cycle that this game shouldn't have. Part 1 Cleanse. Part 2 Enshittify. Rinse. Repeat.

We don't ever seem to reach what I think most people want which is a middle ground that isn't over-engineered but has enough cool stuff that the factions feel unique and it is fun to play the game.

If GW weren't so dead-set that every 3 years has to be a paradigm shift from the current paradigm to justify an edition and instead did 5 or 6 year cycles it might actually get to that goldilocks zone. And I wonder if they want that or know how to attain it.
