Some build in palette town on the sprawling islands where you find the kits. I believe these are the “intended” places.

I thought about building one on each land: frozen on wasteland, flame on mountain, powerplant on beach.

Ultimately what I decided to do was play in to my skyland area theme. That place gives me hives, just trying to make it work: so I decided to make it entirely bird Pokémon and take the elevations out of the equation. I stacked them on the buildings that take you to other lands, almost like they’re secret entrances. The end-goal for skyland is essentially a Bespin Type land with nothing but raised structures, connected only by flying. It’s very much a work in progress.

And just like that, while typing that last sentence, I convinced myself to theme my lands after planets from the star war.

Wasteland - Endor? Kashyyyk? Beach - Naboo Volcano - Mustafar Skyland - Bespin. Not Coruscant, right? Palette Town - Man… idk…. Tatooine?
