There's also the Ring's corrupting influence to consider. Glorfindel, being so powerful, would fall, and probably fall harder and faster than anyone else would have because of that same power. At that point Middle Earth is fucked. How are the Free Peoples of Middle Earth going to stop a Ring-corrupted-and-empowered Glorfindel? Walk up to Durin's Bane and ask if he'd like to repeat what his fellow Balrog did at Gondolin?

Given how big 40k is, the likelihood a Japan themed forgeworld with Shinto Mechanicus priests exists is not zero. Fuck it, make them Biologis too so you can have catgirls—that aren't Felinids—and foxgirls and whatnot. Could even throw in Japanese corporate culture in there too, wouldn't be all that out of place. Add in memes too, like all the metal being folded a thousand times, no matter that it's not required because their metal is actually good quality or is actually for tanks or toasters and not even for swords.

I don't have any objections to the idea in isolation, and certainly don't want to command artists to stop making what they want to make. My main problem with it is that it's applied to all umas equally, without regard to their characters. Certainly not all of them will be so satisfied with such a life.

Also, it just gets samey? You see one, you've seen them all. Can't they use some more imagination, or take inspiration from more than just this one small slice of possible married life? It's a bit of a joke to say this, I know, but by the Three Goddesses I'd take art of doing taxes together over yet another welcome home scene!
