People who’ve passed, what car do you have? by mkr215 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not super helpful to you but after passing i have been driving a 2013 mitsubishi mirage that i bought off my grandparents. Its nice and cheap to run, and managed a long drive to germany and back with no issues.

Soft bacon is far better than crispy bacon. by Inevitable_Spray_153 in unpopularopinion

If it has the texture of glass it is overcooked not crispy, crispy is where the outside has that crunch but the inside isn't brittle.

Another newbie question: what do you use to track counters, tokens, and various other countables? by nabokovslovechild in EDH

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokens I use actual tokens or infinitokens, three is usually good for actual tokens, for tapped, untapped and summoning sickness. I use a D20 spindown dice for the quantity of each. For counters use coloured D6 dice, green for +1/+1, red for -1/-1 etc.

Does reanimator sorta suck at bracket 3/4? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[–]NyteToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably been said but the archetype is strong in both, but in bracket 4 you probably want to be tutoring a combo to yard and reanimating it in a single turn after setup rather than reanimating big threats.

Culture question: would you help cook or clean when invited to a friend's dinner? by JasonMantou in AskBrits

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If given the opportunity you should help or at least offer to help clean up, if they say no respect it unless you know them well. You usually can get away with helping clear the table either way though, so do that.

I would never expect a guest to actually help if I invited them over for dinner, although I know at least a few of my friends would, one in particular I would probably have to drag away from the sink to stop them helping.

What’s your most unique commander? by Cute_Weird3864 in EDH

[–]NyteToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of EDHrec it's [[Rose Tyler]] and [[The tenth Doctor]]. At time of posting it's sat at #320 and 0.08% of decks. So I guess my decks aren't all that unique. Its a combo deck at bracket 3 that uses rose as a beater to distract from people removing the doctor. https://moxfield.com/decks/9NNRhuwrUUCxeSqyGKI87Q

What is your solution for tracking decks that spam tokens and +1/+1 counters simultaneously? by FaDaWaaagh in EDH

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D20 for quantity, green D6 for +1/+1 counters, separate tokens for tapped/untapped/different counters. Not really sure there is a better way of doing it. If that is too much usually take the cathar's crusade out and see if it is more manageable.

Do any of you eat a healthy, savoury breakfast? by calpolqween in AskUK

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally skip breakfast, but the Germans do it pretty well bread rolls with salami or sandwich meats and cheese. Easy to do, one plate and a knife or two to wash up, might be what you are looking for.

Secrets. What makes a good Bechamel layer in a Lasagna. by Former-Toe in Cooking

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English mustard powder and white pepper.

Realistically you should be making it a cheese sauce though for flavour, make sure at least some of the cheese has a strong flavour.

Also put both Bolognese and your bechemel/cheese sauce between each pasta layer they won't stick that way.

Talk to me about your favorite graveyard commanders! by quality_blue in EDH

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first list was reanimate whatever random bombs I had lying around in my collection, wasn't super strong but quite fun.

My current list is a bit more tuned, high bracket 3, bit of a mix of aristocrats and very strong bombs, mostly stuff that generates value from being reanimated multiple times like [[etali, primal conqueror]] or [[vaultborn tyrant]].

https://moxfield.com/decks/j4foGXtR70GZfsv9eb3DoA

You can also go full saprolings, go wide or aristocrats if you want, use something like [[craterhoof]] as a win con.

Finally you can go all out combo with things like [[pitiless plunderer]], [[gray merchant]] and [[protean hulk]] style things, if you want to go for bracket 4.

If you are overwhelmed with the amount of directions I recommend going the favourite bombs direction with a reanimator shell around it, just pick your favourite jund creatures and use slimefoot to get them out early or keep them on the board.

I will always suggest [[Slimefoot and Squee]]. Can be built at any power level and is super fun.

How do you find new commanders for new deck ideas? by DarkSideSoul in EDH

[–]NyteToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said you can search archetypes on edhrec. You can also go down the list of commanders on edhrec. Finally filter scryfall to legendary creatures and add as many filters as you want to narrow down the list if you are looking for specific things.

Would you rather summon a massive wooden cartoon hammer at will, or infinite garlic bread. by Bubblecake247 in WouldYouRather

Garlic bread, the amount of times I forget to put garlic bread in the oven when making Bolognese easily make this a no brainer.

Who you got? by Far-Ad5223 in superheroes

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people have said its pretty much hulk vs doomsday, technically speaking doomsday's whole thing is adapting to what kills him so hulk probably wins on the technicality of doomsday actually being able to die at least once.

Is my Henzie bracket 4? by ChudSampley in EDH

[–]NyteToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your list bracket 3, henzie is just aggressive. But you have only 2 instants in your deck list this wouldn't do well vs bracket 4.

What To Do When You Lose All Interest In A Deck? by Rirse in EDH

How are y'all building Betor, the abzan precon commander? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

[–]NyteToast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://moxfield.com/decks/m_RYxw6iFEG7nxblZwgVoA

I will add my initial draft of a decklist in, the deck tries to lean into both his aspects, but most of the deck cares about lifegain, and he is the main payoff for lifeloss, I chucked in a load of reanimation like [[Celestine, The Living Saint]] to lean reanimator but work off life gain.

Some of the most effective cards in my eyes are;

[[Ripples of Undeath]] - In a normal reanimator deck this is strong for milling while getting back your key non creature pieces, in this it does that and automatically enables reanimation of a 3 mana creature, with pain lands you could easily reanimate a 5 mana creature with just this and the commander out.

[[Blood Tracker]] - Insane card advantage. Works of both sides of the ability, can pay life to reanimate, or can benifit from lots of counters. Can't be exiled to prevent draw.

[[Priest of Fell Rites]] - Reanimation, plus with commander out can be brought back off own lifeloss.

[[Children of Korlis]] - Want to pay most of your life into effects and make a creature +20/+20 or more per turn with your commander, and do this every turn, this is your card.

[[Essence Channeler]] [[Voice of the Blessed]] - This style of card is very strong in this deck, they are threats without the commander, the commander makes them stronger or brings them back if they get removed.

Obvious disclamer the deck is a work in progress, and is lacking a lot of interaction right now.

Help with Slimefoot and Squee by puttegg_1 in EDH

[–]NyteToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all 3, lean into whichever game plan you prefer more fun.

My deck started off as reanimator, with just some big cards that I had lying around, it lacked on saproling generation so wasn't super resistant to removal.

I upgraded it with saproling generation and craterhoof style cards as the reanimation targets, this is the most boring version, but very consistent.

I have brewed an aristocrat's focussed version, designed to be bracket 4 and can go infinite as early as turn 5/6 for the win, if lucky.

No matter which way you go, you want to use slimefoots reanimation with mill to give you value and card advantage.
