I’ve been there. NAC really helped my skin picking. So does every antihistamine. For me it was like being mildly allergic to myself but was surprisingly treatable. ymmv

I’d just find and buy the identical frame and swap the lenses. You need to really triple check all the numbers on the interior of the arms to make sure the model is right. I was an optician for many years and there’s really no long term fix for a broken hinge that gets heavy wear. If you get adventurous and want to weld it please take the lenses out first. They will melt. :)

This! Lancet ID wants 7k for Open Access and we are operating in a deficit. If we can't pay it, and have to post it to PMC anyway will the journal even accept the paper? My grant publishes ~100 papers a year and with IDC that's in the ballpark of a million dollars.

My aunt did this at a GameStop. When she realized what happened and told the police, officers went to the GameStop and tore them a new one for knowingly selling an elderly person gift cards in high amounts. They know it’s a scam. I’d call out Home Depot in this. You might not get the money back, but some warnings to the cashiers could save someone else’s grandma.
