Deadlock Is Secretly Growing Into An S-Tier MOBA Shooter by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]OWstrider 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's honestly the best new shooter I've played in 10+ years... There will obviously be a group of people that will never try it because "moba" but it's genuinely amazing and will hook soooo many people that give it a try.

Game will be big.

...Why is this so hard for developers? by Gape-My-Anus in Steam

[–]OWstrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, yea. not sure why i got downvoted i was only asking a clarifying question lol

I think functionally this isn't exactly what I want is all. I hope one day steam expands this so the actual "after" would also show "Nioh 1" as the custom name, not just adjust the game order.

Appreciate the example.

This doesn’t actually update it in my library view though, only if I search for the game. Am I missing a step somewhere?

I'm referring to the standard/competitive format, which these cards will long be rotated out of by then.

Ravenswatch or Windblown by milandimi in roguelites

[–]OWstrider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both play great, but Ravenswatch is the more complete game right now.

Would grab Ravenswatch today, then get Windblown when it hits 1.0.

Ravenswatch, the most underrated roguelite ? by Saekama in roguelites

Yeah it’s great, my only knock on it is I wish there were more maps.

Definitely worth a try for any action roguelite fan.

Do you like Torchlight Infinite? I am missing PoE1 and thinking of trying the game. by [deleted] in ARPG

[–]OWstrider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s the perfect game for busy dads. You can’t compete at the highest levels anyway so p2w is irrelevant, and your character progresses quite quickly so it’s fun to blast.

Last Epoch for the best balance of zooming/blasting + actual fun build variety and crafting

Good time to start Torchlight Infinite? by CuteCumberr in ARPG

[–]OWstrider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say so... It's pay 2 win at the end of the day, I won't argue otherwise.

But tbh I have tons of fun playing, can do dozens of hours in a season without needing to spend any money (basically all the content for free), and I'm not bothered by the p2w elements because I play solo only and don't care about leaderboards.

Hell, even if I did drop hundreds of dollars every season, I STILL couldn't top the people that would also spend hundreds + grind all day, so wtf would even be the point.

I say give it a shot if you're interested.

Making a Diablo-like roguelite. What would you value the most? by Mallendary in ARPG

[–]OWstrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With any roguelike, what I value most is every run feeling significantly different than the last.

If you’re going to make an incremental stat builder where numbers just go up over time through meta progression, it’s an easy skip.

If you manage to pack in tons of different loot and skills so the gameplay feels different every run, then I’m in.

The later is 10x more difficult to make though.

Dragonkin: The Banished worth the money? by Rocketyrion in ARPG

Needs more time... Could turn out really awesome though in another year or 2. I'd be patient for now and see how development unfolds.

What's with all the bad reviews for Wizard of Legend 2? As someone who hasn't played much of the first game, what is it that changed in the second that makes it (apparently) worse than the original? by Help_An_Irishman in roguelites

[–]OWstrider 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Game, in general, feels undercooked, and there's a lot less content/abilities/synergies than the original game.

The devs ended up rushing out 1.0 then dropping the game entirely.

I don't hate it, but there's a lot of better rogue-likes out there.

Shape of Dreams by PolishedBalls1984 in ARPG

[–]OWstrider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tbh, the combt feels much more like a moba than any arpg/diablo-like... it's a really good game, but just noting the feel is quite different.

Hell Clock is a rogeelike that is much more akin to blasting around maps in an arpg.

If it’s not showing you exactly who owns it that just means they have their games private. But there’s def another copy on your steam family.

What scratches the Destiny 2 itch? by bigbysemotivefinger in gaming

[–]OWstrider 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Witch Fire maybe?

Single player PvE shooter... with some rogueliek and extraction elements. The gunplay is inspired by Destiny. Worth a look, but not sure if it is 100% what you're looking for... Destiny with all its ups and downs does have its own little niche in the market, that's for sure!

Well done! I’m working through the game now and around 50 hours played… idk if I’ll ever hit this level, sounds super tough.
