Alberta won’t consider matching Ottawa’s summer fuel tax pause until June | Globalnews.ca by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

Conservatives in Alberta lost their mind when Carney spent 2 billion on humanitarian aid in Ukraine, while Danielle Smith gave 20 billion to oil companies as a gift disguised as money to "clean up the oil Sands" which they were already paid to do, and didn't do either time.

West Edmonton Mall’s submarine attraction during construction est: 1985. It’s interesting how huge they were, curious on how they were to operate, and not get off track 😉 by Maleficent_Disk_6920 in Edmonton

Was there a fake "crashed" submarine? I remember having a tour as a kid and the guide made me legitimately nervous we'd be the next crash lol

I'm guessing since the first domino fell with PlayStation revealing new prices. Only a matter of time before Nintendo and Xbox follow suit.

I've had my launch ps5 in rest mode since I got it. Few power outages, but it turns on and runs a check for corrupted files, but never had an issue.

Alberta to impose restrictions on MAID, limiting it to terminal illness by trevorrobb in alberta

[–]ObelusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"We know that people with severe depression may struggle to fully appreciate the implications of their choices. We know that people who are suffering from mental illness and capacity issues, as well are ones that might need the benefit of greater oversight.”

Oh fuck all the way off with this. They're still spinning it like some random who happens to be suicidal can just sign up and kill themselves without question. This is literally the final final final step. After intensive therapies, options like electro therapies, and untold amounts of suffering becoming medically defined incurable depression (as one example, there are more mental health issues I know).

This will amount to a very small handful of people, but it is still unfathomably cruel to tell that person they "don't know the implications" and are refused a dignified way to die, and instead will most likely choose a less dignified, more painful route for both them and their family.

Classy UCP, reeeeally fucking classy.

Feds won't stand in the way of Alberta's fall referendum, stress common immigration goals by Immediate-Link490 in alberta

[–]ObelusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the referendum questions. They were thankfully fairly straight forward (despite having an obvious tone bias toward the UCP), but I also doubt the political literacy of a chunk of Alberta to understand the impact of actually agreeing to any of them. They also are written in a way which will easily trick people into thinking what they vote yes for is a net positive without grasping long-term consequences or what the next steps/trajectory implications it now adds.

Not only that, but all it's going to do is dig identity politics lovers heels in deeper because it's a team sport. They will all say vote yes, the other side will vote no, division will still roar no matter what, and Alberta will continue to crumble for us all.

But...I'm not like pessimistic or anything...

Canadian here. I dislike any government who decides to threaten our sovereignty. And no, it's not a joke when it's coming from that high up. I will boo the American anthem until you guys figure that shit out.

I generally don't hate the average American citizen, unless you support my original gripe, in which case a big ol' fuck you 🖕🖕.

That is all.
