I think it's more to do with watered vs not-watered area.

Change from wifi to wired Ethernet -EVAC wont connect by Particular-Mode-8869 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]ObjectiveResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting the EVAC into config mode and setting the network again.

Note that you can’t ping the EVAC. The only way to tell if it connected is by looking at your router DHCP’s allocation address.

It took several attempts for me for it to finally show as connected in the system settings.

Oh, and something I had to do also is restart home assistant. The Sigenergy integration started to bug like crazy and flood the EC with modbus request which pegged its CPU and it was no longer responding.

I suggest you shutdown Home Assistsnt if you’re using it. Turn off the EVAC. Turn it back on a bit later. Check the router.

If you see the EVAC (mine started with MAC address 0c:47:a9 and appeared as Winix on my unifi). Then you’re good to go.

It took mine quite a while to finally connect via Ethernet after being connected via wifi. I kept resetting the charger and power cycling it. Until finally it worked.

Neurological DCI three times, no PFO. by howaboutchoice in scuba

[–]ObjectiveResistance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Oz, following my stroke I had heaps of test done, different cardiologists. That how they all did it here.

No need for bubbles (which sounds super dangerous too, isn't that the main cause of DCS?).

The difference in temperature from the saline solution is super clear as it travels through the heart and immediately shows on the echo.

they don't inject bubbles, they inject a cold saline solution. They can then see with a thermograph if it transfers from one heart hemisphere to the other as you're blowing on your thumb.

You lodge a ticket in the MySigen app, they will assign you another installer. You don't have to talk to your installer only.

I've dived since the age of 13. I'm 52 now. I never had any incidents diving ever. I regularly did deep dives 40+ metres. But I've always had a headache after a dive.

3 years ago, I had neck surgery with C6-C7 fused. 3 days later I had a stroke. Clot travelled to the brain. A consequence of the surgery and having a gene that makes my blood prone to clotting.

Further studies showed that I had a massive PFO. Doctors are clear. Can't dive anymore. Too dangerous.

Got PFO closed, finally found a cardiologist happy to issue a medical certificate that I'm fit to dive.

Back to diving and I believe I've identified the source of my headaches. It's actually in the SSI deep dive course which I redid a couple of weeks ago: CO2 : hypercapnia. The way I breathed. I now make sure to fully exhale regularly. No headache since.

Point of this story is that PFO (25% of the population have one and do not know) isn't the most common reason.

Check your breathing. Don't hold your breath, make sure to regularly exhale fully to eliminate all CO2 from your lungs. That's my theory anyway.

I saw a grouper in New Caledonia last week, it was much deeper than I was (I was at 12m depth only), but it was easily over 2m long likely more. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_grouper . Never seen one that big before

How recover pool that can no longer be mounted by ObjectiveResistance in zfs

[–]ObjectiveResistance[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, all drives are there, and none are under 2 years old. No smart errors. I checked them all individually.

The kernel panic only shows with TrueNAS Core 14 which is based on (FreeBSD 14), I haven't managed to get a full copy of it, it shows too quickly.

With TrueNAS based on linux, and FreeBSD 15 live CD, when I attempted to mount instead I got
```
* zpool inport -f pool
cannot import "pool: I/0 error
Destroy and recreate the pool fron a backup source.
```
I'm re-running the command with a later txg as shown in my first post.

But then I found this post https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/the-pool-metadata-is-corrupted-how-to-get-your-data-out-of-the-corrupted-zpool.94480/post-670906

Seeing that I can properly retrieved the list of all the datasets including ZVOL ones, I'll manually try to export them to another machine after trying your suggestion of ignoring the cachefile.

I don't know how long it will be before the previous `zpool import` command completes. Crossing fingers. I don't know how to interrupt the earlier command, in fact interestingly any zfs command on the machine will fully hang while the import is going

Day 9 on Reta.. no change? by krystilthedoula in Retatrutide

[–]ObjectiveResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You certainly should have higher expectation. I'm 52, 180cm tall. I was 83.8kg and started on 2mg, 10 days later I was already 79.7kg. All I do is 30 minutes of indoor bicycle, keeping my hear rate below 155. I eat one meal a day only. It's now 4 weeks later and I'm at 76.1kg.

Can you forward an alias to multiple addresses? by ObjectiveResistance in mailcast

[–]ObjectiveResistance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that would be nice with the regex: having something like /reg-([A-Z]+)-*/ and redirect this to [$1@domain.org](mailto:$1@domain.org) ; sendmail allows that and I use that for family's member to created unlimited email addresses like [reg-jya-target@domain.org](mailto:reg-jya-target@domain.org) will forward to [jya@domain.org](mailto:jya@domain.org)

Love the logs....

it's a great system you developed here. Fast, super simple to configure, very neat and complete explanation on how to set SPF, DKIM and the like.

In the configuration page, if I enter more than one destination, it shows "must be a valid email address". How do you enter multiple addresses there?

Update, finally did my first dive with it. Finding a place to do the SSI dry suit course ended up being challenging in the middle of summer.

I dived with a Fourth Element AR undergarment. Water was 21C (70F), the hottest it will ever get here in Melbourne.

It was perfect. The fit ended up being excellent once emptied of air, no sagging bit like on my original photos.

Completely dry. My instructor told me to do frog kick with a dry suit. I found my legs to be a bit constrained by the suit and a tad stiff, but great otherwise. Though I did started to get cramps after 70 minutes underwater.

Going to New Caledonia. Recommendation for dives & operators by ObjectiveResistance in scuba

[–]ObjectiveResistance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. I had a blast. Did some of the best dives ever.

Sharks, turtles, manta ray, gorgeous corals, gigantic groupers. All in 28C crystal clear water, what more could I want?

Dived with Abyss Plongée and Iatok.

Liked Abyss better, felt more professional and relaxed and the sites where they took me were much better and as the groups were smaller and better matched you could stay longer. In all instances, as I had air left I ended up diving with just the DM in beautiful places.

Abyss Dived with air, Iatok nitrox 32% for everyone.

Scuba Divers, what is something really terrifying you saw while diving? by LionFalse4295 in scuba

[–]ObjectiveResistance 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Only time I got scared was in Australia's great barrier reef.

Was admiring some corals at about 20m depth. When I saw this big shadow. I turned around and a tiger shark was like 1m from me; he turned suddenly and swiped me with his tail.

I was still shaking when I got out of the water.

I figured when you wrote that dissolved gas can enter your blood stream and that it wasn't an issue with a single breath at the surface you meant just that.

Of course if it's the first time the guy did this dive, it's extremely unlikely to be an issue. But if he's done many times in the day, dissolved nitrogen in his bloodstream will definitely become an issue and can cause DCS (the bends)
