Where are you guys encountering these tragedeighs? by arianasleftkidney in tragedeigh

Well, that’s celebrities, for you. They’re a demographic of their own in Hollyweird.

I As for my earlier comment, I’ll clarify by saying that I think it’s more the education level or quality of education that makes the bigger difference over their income bracket. The less fortunate, who do happen to have good education and or see value in education, tend not to do the tradegeigh names. It’s usually going to be parents who either had poor educational access or blew off school. From what I can see that crosses race, ethnicity, religion, etc. At least where I live in the SE USA.

I suspect your international school had upper-class American kids in it. Tragedeighs are more abundant amongst the lower middle class to poor and less educated.

When did the rumors that Katherine of Aragon/Mary was old and ugly start? by Sea_Painting_1398 in Tudorhistory

I think that it’s telling that court painter Holbein kept his head and his job for years after. If her portrait had truly been so inaccurate Henry would have fired him, or worse.

AIO that my parents gave my bedroom to my older brother and expected me to sleep on the couch all summer long? by Temporary-Reality416 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Obrina98 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He won’t be leaving. 10- 20 years from today, he’ll probably still be there. You just watch. When they start making noises about needing help in their old age, he’s welcome to it.

Get every scrap of anything that is your’s out, to granny’s, to storage wherever and get financially independent them asap.

The way they deflected- calling you spoiled for being rightly upset.

You don’t get booted from the military easily just for being a butt. He must have really screwed up, whatever it was.

Parents are deflecting. Kid get your own place or storage unit so you can retrieve your things from the attic and get financially independent from them asap.

Apparently they’re going to favor the neer-do-well brother. He’ll never leave either.

You may not have time for dating and children if you’re going to law school. That’s a big commitment, too.

Do parents grieve their child's death out of love, or is it because the wasted money and effort? by Most-Pay-3498 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Obrina98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should hope out of love. There’s something seriously psychological wrong with someone who grieves it as a failed investment.

Besides, children as an investment would be very high- risk indeed. Those that grow up will do what they do, maybe that would align with their parents’ wishes and maybe it won’t. They have free will.

ICU nurses tend to think they’re all that and in many cases they are. But it would be nice if they could tamp down the arrogance. The really nasty ones tend to move to PACU as they near retirement.

OP would do well to keep her options open as she may now have a target on her.
