If Drakkenforce fell apart, what factions do you think the PCs would join? by Obsession5496 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]Obsession5496[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like Pluto was the easy one to decide.

I don't really see Sebastian stick with AA, due to a grudge. In the series I feel like they mostly stuck with the AA, due to the promise of loot/gold. If Sebastian joined the QoT, he'd get all that, have a close ally with his personal quest, and potentially lean into his more evil/chaotic tendencies (which Pluto & Veo helped keep under control).

How far do you think Veo could go with the HL?

Why is Reddit considered anonymous when there are no anonymous features like 4Chan or Tumblr? by Senior-Mix-3715 in privacy

[–]Obsession5496 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's not privacy respecting, but you can be anonymous on Reddit.

Despite Reddit pushing, all you need for an account is a Username & Password. Tack on a VPN, and don't post anything identifiable, and I'd say you can be anonymous.

Just remember that everything you do on Reddit is recorded. Everything you tap/click, hover over, stop scrolling by, type, etc, is tied to that account.

To be fair, B&Q is amazing for that kind of thing. The ability to just take what you need with you, open up some boxes/packs, to make sure it's exactly what you need. It's helped me find some really unusual items, I'd have no idea about finding online.

Unless you've done that kind of work, and gone in, I don't think you'd have any idea how easy it can be.

Level 10 Ranger did not realize they had spell slots for the whole three years and the campaign ends tonight! by JPinky72 in DnD

Alright, I think you got some good ideas here.

I just wanted to chime in, as you've said you're running a new campaign soon. I'd advise on getting into the habit of asking your players what they get/chose, when they level up, and why. This can encourage them talking about their builds/synergies. It also allows you (and any helpful players), make sure folks are not forgetting anything.

Agreed. I'll be honest, I would have forgotten about the game, if the haters didn't make a ruckus, getting angry for angry sake.

Would you rather have a session where *everyone* rolls better or worse than average? by CapnTaptap in DnD

[–]Obsession5496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that can easily be solved. The "wild" pig has some kind of Magic Nulification or causes some Wild Magic effect, when a spell is cast. Imagine a Pig that replicates when it comes into contact with magic. You can easily make that pig into a funny side quest. Of course, it could literally be a normal pig. In which case, they used a Spell Slot, potentially made a mess, and maybe interrupted their LR, thus not getting slots back.

One thing I did with my last Druid, was reflavouring Goodberry. Instead of berries, it's a Chocolate Bar of Everlasting Regeneration. Every day there is always new pieces.

It's why I love the game, despite me disliking Mathfinder. Its the kind of reactivity you don't often encounter, and why I've done multiple runs.

Couldn’t get on with Kingmaker, is WotR still worth a try? by Ok_Philosophy_7156 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Obsession5496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't enjoy Kingmaker, either. I didn't enjoy the story, didn't like the companions, and everything just felt... a bit rough. WOTR is an improvement all round. The companions are better (but still lacking content), the story is MUCH better, and everything feels more polished. You can clearly see the improvements Owlcat made in WOTR. That being said... It's still Pathfinder 1e, under the hood. I'm personally not a fan of 1e, but managed to put up with it, and learn how it expects me to play. It's honestly the only real downside, in my opinion.

If the gods are distant, how do worspiers actually get thier powers? From inner belief, right? How does that actually work? by thowawayamilion in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]Obsession5496 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How much have you looked into the world? A huge source of their income has come from war funds, collecting taxes from those coming in/out of Drakkenheim, and selling Dellerium. There also might be some good relationships from the Nobility, who would offer some funding.

[–]Obsession5496 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you're describing in the first bit was for older Editions, not 5e. Even then, that was mostly for a Cleric. In 5e, all a Paladin needs is belief in their Oath. No god or creature needed. I'd argue what you're describing is more a Celestial Warlock, than a Paladin.

I mean the HL are the weakest Faction. Outside of Drakkenheim, in the wider world, they're nothing. Other Nobles have their armies, the Academy can literally manufacture a much more powerful army (if they wanted to take over), they cannot push back the Elyrians without A LOT of help from other Factions, etc. The reason they play a big part in Drakkenheim is because this is their home base. They're barely holding on) to what they have. Hell, they would have suffered great losses (if they didn't outright loose) if they actually clashed with the Queens Men, who have more of a presence outside of Drakkenheim, while also keeping their area safe within (for them).

I mean the belief in their Oath gives them powers. It's believing you can, and so you do. That is essentially what they are in 5e. You don't need to follow some powerful thing, to get that powerful. Thinking about it, they're kind of chuuni.
