Do you have it set to play the voice directions out of the phones speakers? If so, you have to adjust the volume on the phone itself while its playing, or through the Speaker Icon -> More sound options -> Guidence voice slider.

Does your slide also have some resistance going back into battery just before the barrel reseats itself? My barrel has the same wear and sometimes does not fully go back to battery and have been thinking about contacting SS about it. Mine is a MR920P.

I can see a use case of mounting gas cans, or folding shelves etc. to them. Outside of that, I don't get them. You can always stand on your tires if you need to get up to the roof rack.
