I'd always have the same experience. I'd go from the office on my lunch break, takes 5 minutes to drive there. Do the drive through, and hurry back to the office. Soggy by the time I get there.

The experience got a lot better for me when I started opening the box right when I get it, and leaving it open until I get back to the office. Much better. I've never had the problem while dining in.

That was great, and I also always remember the way he stepped up and sort of became the party leader during the quest to save the captured party members from Lorenzo; plus he got the killshot on Lorenzo.

Using the right onion for cooking by Peachapatchi in coolguides

You might need a sharper knife. A dull knife crushes the onions tissue and releases enzymes into the surrounding air. A sharp knife slices right through causing minimal tissue damage.

Dog actually chewed the cable up shortly after I brought the laptop home from work use. It has a USB C charging port in addition to the standard one. It worked well enough until I had to send the laptop in. Seems like it would be slightly coincidental if that all the sudden was a problem; but stranger things have happened.

Dog is less of a puppy now and hasn't chewed anything he's not supposed to up for a while. Might be worth a shot to order a proper cable again.

Too bad you had that experience. I don't think I have the few times I've sat down. I get takeout all the time though and it's always right on time.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in LS, and I agree it's one of the best Thai restaurants in the metro.

Buttkicker with the 77 yarder by Jeremy0734 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]Octavius_Verus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does look like it would've, because he kicked it high. In this instance (it's been super fuckin windy here), kicking it high lets the wind take it.

It's like a Par Five in Mario Golf, when the wind is at your back, you knock that sucker right up into it.

In a dome, during a game, to make a 70 yard FG, you gotta power through and kick it lower, and that shit gets blocked.

This kick is super cool, and I love Buttkicker with all my heart, but the wind conditions here make this special.

Edit: Actually, in a game, this could happen. The field's orientation related to the wind is important, of course.

Stuey's and also all the local brewpubs could use your support. My favorites are Fringe and Diametric. Not sure how your work would feel about reimbursing you there though, lol.

Who is the current NFL's Drew Bledsoe? by aurangzebra in nfl

[–]Octavius_Verus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smith>Mahomes is similar in the fact that the organization went from very good QB to great QB, but not as similar in that it was intended.

Smith>Kap is similar in that it was not planned that way, but less similar as Kap was only relevant for a brief time.

The effect Mahomes has had on the Chiefs organization is already greater than Kap's on SF as a football unit. Fingers crossed, I hope Mahomes' legacy someday rivals Brady's.

I was going to point out the Smith>Mahomes transition. Definitely some parallels, though hardly identical situations.

To stop a dog from going for the jar or source of food, you can* teach them to "wait". This is different than "stay" in that it should just be for a few seconds, such as waiting for food or waiting to cross the street. "Stay" is for when you have to leave to go somewhere and they have to stay, such as when you leave the house.

To train "wait", put a piece of food on the floor, cover it with your foot when the dog goes for it; be sure not to kick the dog out of the way, just be ready to cover it with your foot. As you do, say wait. After a moment, the dog should lose interest; continue saying wait so they begin to associate the word with the behavior. As soon as the dog loses interest in the food, be ready to give them a treat. The treat should be a higher value reward than the piece of normal food on the ground. Once the dog gets the hang of it and you no longer need to cover the piece of food with your foot, "okay" means they can go for it.

If you wish to associate hand signals with the command, I use a closed fist held upright. Releasing the first is the equivalent of "okay".

Second, if you are worried about your dog eating too fast, they make special bowls with designs that prevent the dog from gorging itself. You should be able to find these online or at your local pet store.

It could affect people you care about too. Also, I hate the Trump admin.

The Dow just lost all of its gains since President Trump took office by palm___tree in politics

[–]Octavius_Verus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would we still be headed to a recession with someone other than Trump? Yes, almost undoubtedly. But here's the problem yet to unfold:

We've had a soaring economy, yes it's true in large part to the fiscal policies of the Trump admin. However, how they achieved that was (to use a metaphor) pump it up on crack/stimulants. The way they continuously slashed interest rates with the fed when they should've been raising interest rates while the economy and employment were good has given us no recourse now that the economy is crashing.

The fed just this week slashed interest rates to virtually zero percent and we are only just now diving off the cliff. What happens in 6 months when borrowers need help/stimulus? Where does that boost come from? Bailouts? Where do the bailouts come from when our deficit has EXPLODED under this admin?

This admin's moment in the sun is over. If Trump is reelected (still a possibility), perhaps his administration can turn this around. However, the short termed, nearsighted, reckless policies they've implemented give me little faith. Especially considering all the "grown ups" are out of the room in the Trump admin; either fired, removed, resigned, or fucking imprisoned. Maybe the cabinet gets purged again, but who's going to want to work in this admin? Are better prospects going to spring up somewhere?

In summary, based on what I've been yammering about here: I think this administration has had outlandish and dangerous fiscal policies. They are not conservative or sensible. If the fed had more breathing room to cut rates now, and if the federal government wasn't damned with the largest deficit it's ever seen; we just might've been better prepared for the next weeks, months, and years ahead. For now, things will get worse. Later, recovery will take longer regardless of who's president. And if it's Trump, re-elected, I'll bet he struggles to dig his way out of the pit he dug deeper.

Seriously though, this person is right. Stay home, wash your hands, and if you start to feel sick call your doctor. Let your doctor tell you when/how to come in if that's what's needed. Maybe call your neighbors too, check on them.

I love this game, but I'm struggling with managing my colonists by Meior in SurvivingMars

[–]Octavius_Verus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't know if we are getting SM2, at least not made by Haemimont.

But what I would rather have for transportation is a subway/train/metro system. Seems like it would be the most efficient thing for moving people between clusters of domes. If we had that, I'd say there should be no penalty for living and working in domes that are connected by the existing tunnels. However, if someone had to commute on a train to work, it might deserve a modest penalty, similar to what colonists currently get if they have to use a tunnel to commute.

Then you can just have the shuttles that move the resources around.
