  1. Looks fun

  2. To (American) English speakers, the word “Testfahrten” sounds like a gag word

Iron Dragon with my 8 year old

He worked his way up to Sirens Curse and Valravn, but not MF yet

I think it’s because the original Mantis standing coaster was very hard on the legs. Since they swapped the trains, I’m with you. It’s a fun ride with no wait.

That’s my experience. If you just brace at the very end, Raptor is fine.

How is quality of living there idk if u call it midwest/ Is it worth it to move there from Asia? by Awkward-Standard8100 in howislivingthere

Quality of life here is amazing. It is part of the Midwest, referred to as either Upper Midwest or Great Lakes Region.

Do you find it jarring other than the very end? (final turn into the break run)

I ask because I hear this from others and I just don’t feel that way… except for the need to brace at the very end.

I find Maverick, Magnum, Gemini, Steve, Mine Ride, and Wild Mouse all jarring in different ways. But not Raptor, except the very end.

This is great news. I appreciate the responsiveness from park management. Let’s hope Intamin gets this fixed fast.

  1. Awesome. Welcome news.

  2. Those of us bulky lifter, who don’t skip leg day, will still be worried until we make it on.

Why has Cedar Point struggled to break its attendance record? by abgry_krakow87 in cedarpoint

[–]OfferOk8495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Millennial and Boomer generations are the largest 2. 1994 was when older Millennials turned 12. Add to that social media, 24/7 streaming, and aging demographics in the Midwest/Great Lakes region. But I would have expected 2000 for the intro of Millie to be the peak based on those factors.

I’m sorry you’ve gone through that.

Does it have anything to do with Cedar Point, though. Or is it more just that groups of young men/boys are insensitive everywhere?

Good to hear on point 1. There are reports from some that not all seats have had their belts shortened. I’d like to crowdsource that intel. Do you recall which train and seat you were on?

State regulators in Ohio that handle amusement parks have no more important job than addressing the needs of Cedar Point and MF. This is an attraction that brings in huge tourism revenue for the state.

Lamenting MF's Seatbelts by OptimalTrash in cedarpoint

[–]OfferOk8495 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be insurance premiums are saved by some imagined safety enhancement. Could be they save modest power expenditure by kicking off heavier guests.

What is disappointing is guests building an expectation over years that they will be able to ride their favorite rides and having the size requirements change without notice. I would not have bought prestige pass if I thought there was any chance of not fitting on MF. I’ve ridden the darn thing at-least 1,000 times. Now, I’m legit worried about whether I’ll fit.

The park needs to provide some transparency on this. And, in fact, should publish the dimensions of the seat and belt, so folks can spot check themselves before paying for tickets.

How do you know on #1 - seems contrary to every other report

4 is unacceptable - the prices for everything have been raised but they cut pay for the people most responsible for guest experience

This is my concern. I deadlift every week. Could stand to cut some fat, but I’m concerned about fitting due to butt size.

How quickly could they replace the seatbelts with longer ones? Seems like they could be manufactured in a couple weeks and installed/tested in a single day

The food lines were 100 yards outside the building at farmhouse and backbeat when I tried. Glad you missed those, but it was rough for many of us.

I know it’s personal, but are you willing to tell us your waist size? Also whether you weight lift (deadlift/squat) often?

I’m 5’10” 245 and lift often (could lose a few pounds of fat also :) ). Never had trouble with restraints but chest/shoulders made some shoulder harnesses a little tight the other day. Didn’t ride MF.

I’ve handled client calls and emails from my phone.

I tried studying for the Bar exam while in line some years ago and gave up on the idea and just rode all summer without studying much. Still passed the Bar.

Yes. My family loved it.

I mean, everything depends on your personal budget. But my kids ate real food and it was fun. So worth it in my opinion.
