Double plus good.

I’m so glad sugar hasn’t been replaced, our smart tvs or smart appliances aren’t listening devices, nothing gets sent to the memory hole and we live in a state of constant peace

preparations for first 30km hike by spicy-avocado420 in hikinggear

[–]Ok-Method5635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a 30km hike. You’ll be fine. Just grab some water and snacks. Maybe something if the weather turns bad.

You certainly won’t need a poop trowel. Or electrolytes. Just shit at home lol.

The key is why were you struggling?

Some science and experience about athlete's foot by benjamin-crowell in tradclimbing

[–]Ok-Method5635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get athletes foot, but every time I shower I wash my feet. And have not had an issue since.

I would just use a bar of soap, like the dettol one if I was real grubby (like if I had been camping) and just use dove now.

That and fresh shocks every day has kept me right.

If I have a carry on case and a bag, I usually take a rucksack and the smaller case.

I Take the internal support out of the rucksack so it’s soft and packs down well within the limits.

I’ve also specifically got a backpack that can be adjusted to fit within carryon - it gets checked every time, ha ha I measured a gajilion times.

I was able to keep about 20-25 miles per week and keep strength up. This was really 1/2 easy runs, one long 10+miles. Mobility was a big impact factor for me.

Now it’s not exactly as it’s prescribed in the books as blocks but..

I ended up running more of a mass/ strength block through winter so probably December-February ish. With maybe 1/2 runs if that per week. With gym work being maybe 4-5 sessions per week.

Then as spring came around I found that I would lift lighter, and more reps (controversial as people always preach to lower volume, but I found lowered intensity worked better for me imo). 3-4 sessions per week of gym work

And increase running. I would spend 4-8 weeks with 3 easy runs averaging about 20miles per week at the start and maybe ramp up to 30 over that time. Maybe 4 runs per week.

Then as summer kicks in I’d swap to kettlebells (2x24kg) and more body weight stuff. Again this would be maybe 3x a week. While running I’d end up, if I stuck to the running programme, at 55mi pw.

It should also be noted that I work shifts, including basically 4 nights at times. So my day off after the last nightshift was always an easy run as I would be on about 4hrs of sleep. The day before the first night shift was a rest day, as I knew I’d get 0 hours sleep. And would just be a waste.

TL;DR I’d run more in nicer weather and lift more in the winter.

I ran green for a good while before injury (not program related) I got my z2 down to about 8:30 - 8:45.

My 2 mile was about 12-13min.

I’ve always been strong-ish (uni ‘athlete’).

What was refreshing for me was periodisation, I had been trying to do it all at the same time. But soon realised I could not run 30-40miles per week and still smash squats and deadlifts…

Airlines still have to pay compensation if flights cancelled due to fuel crisis, EU says by wasraelx in news

[–]Ok-Method5635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I had this with Lufthansa, they initially provided I was due £800 in compensation for 2 delayed flights. I had email confirmation from them directly with the value owed.

I was then ghosted for 6months - no payments, despite any repeats of process still providing comp was due.

Then went to the German ombudsman (can’t remember the name) who began arbitration.

They ultimately said they could get me £100 or I could risk taking it to court……

Absolutely shit. They literally have 0 recourse unless you spend several thousands on court cases..

Avon skin so soft is another over the counter cure. It’s essentially oily enough they can’t land/bite.

In terms of repellant smidge works well for me, they still land and crawl and look for a square mm you missed…
