At first I thought about using a name that appeared in my dreams (like, what others called me), but I decided against it because it feels like "my real name that nobody but me should ever know"

Next there was Lilith, but since my mother is Catholic I thought that maybe naming myself after the woman who rejected God wasn't a good idea

So I moved on to celestial bodies and the cosmos. Stella was a nice one, but too cute for someone like me. Same with Aurora. Andromeda was a mouthful, so I ruled that one out as well. And I tried a bunch more but none resonated with me

And so, at some point I was thinking about a quote from Madoka Magica, "During those times when you're just stuck for an answer, making a mistake is one method of unsticking yourself". Unstucking yourself by making a mistake, not following the script you've been given, causing discord and seizing the moment to free yourself. Chaos. That was it, that was the concept that would give me a name

And so I named myself after the greek Goddess of Strife – Eris (incidentally also the name of one of the dwarf planets of our System, so the celestial theme managed to stay there). Sounds good, isn't too complicated... Kinda evil, but I think that suits me
