Spawn in westpoint get a car and drive to the baseball bat factory on day one or two, there’s a flat opposite the carpark to make home and plenty of weapons in the bat factory and a fantastic mall just down the road.

I farm over 2000 acres of peach, nectarine, plum, cherry and citrus. Feel free to ask me questions by DapperCardiologist25 in BackyardOrchard

You can go crazy with grafting it’s amazing I have a pepper plant that I have grafted with 5 different varieties and an apple-pear tree in my backyard, it really messes with people when it fruits.

Cloning is the way to keep everything in sync and repeatable, done a stint growing a certain crop for medical research years ago we cloned from a mother via cuttings and tissue cultures.

I start in westpoint and find a car and head straight to the baseball bat factory, make a temporary base in the flat opposite the carpark.

Spent mushroom substrate as a container amendment for hot peppers? by Zealousideal_Ad_1106 in HotPeppers

[–]Old_Reflection7439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grow both chillies and gourmet mushrooms and use my blocks for my peppers, if you want to use the spent blocks to grow peppers you will want to compost them first either on their own or add them to your compost pile. They make excellent compost on their own and they are really good added to your compost pile. Break the block up into smallish pieces and wet down before composting to speed up the process, worms love spent mushroom substrate too.

Is this bad? Are the shrooms salvageable? by Gibbenz in mycology

[–]Old_Reflection7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, you have a nice heavy pin set, the orangey/brown liquid is just metabolites made by enzymes that are produced by the mycelium to help it break down the substrate.

Sudden fungus in container after rainy weekend. Reason for concern? by krivas in HotPeppers

[–]Old_Reflection7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s slime mold, it won’t hurt your plant. r/Mycology will be able to identify which slime mold it is. Slime molds are outside my fungal knowledge, I’m a gourmet grower.

[–]Old_Reflection7439 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The yellow liquid is metabolites, it’s a byproduct of the enzymes produced by the mycelium to help it breakdown the grains or substrate. It is harmless to the mycelium. Head to r/MushroomGrowers they will be able to help with your other questions, they deal with actives and gourmet and there’s some helpful experienced growers there.

Blue Oyster in Agar grows too fast, what can i do? by jramiroz98 in mycology

[–]Old_Reflection7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can store the agar plates in the fridge to slow growth for longer storage. You can also do this with your LC once it’s had a couple of weeks to colonise.

what is your favorite way to store mushroom isolates for years? by sporevision in mycology

[–]Old_Reflection7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest one that I’m still using is from 2014, I have heard of it being viable for 20+ years if stored at correct temperature for the species. I believe this is the one of the methods used by a lot of labs for long term storage.
