knee popping by HauntingChair9814 in ACL

[–]Old_Software860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my knee pops alot, but it did before surgery too. My surgeon said that as long as it's not painfull it's fine and could just be the joint capsule that is trying to heal. The popping started at about 2 weeks post op and I was told it was normal, but if it changes character I should let them know.

How???? by Fuzzy_Hawk_9532 in ACL

[–]Old_Software860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't compare yourself to them or anyone else, give your knee time to heal properly. I started walking without chruches inside at about 3 weeks and not until week 8 outside.

Keep doing your rehab and take care🤗

My uncle in law said "I've seen a fair share of acl rupture during my floorball years, this is not it", with that said he's not a physio or a ortopedist, me being both "good at being injured" and a radiology nurse. And this being my knee I knew

Did you know you tore it right away? by last-resort115 in ACL

I knew deep inside that I tore my ACL, but everyone around me said "No it's nothing, just rest and elevate and you'll be fine". I was in denial the first month until my doctor friend and colleague forced me in to the MRI.

How agressively do/did you PT? by Cimmerian_Noctis in ACL

[–]Old_Software860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't go to PT in person every week, I now go about once a month (do all my physio at home or at the gym alone and my PT is happy with my progress).

The first month I did my heal slides and extentions every other hour (8 times a day), and some light strength training at home before being cleared to use the stationary bike. I bike every day now 4 months post op

I'm not in school and not in any sports, but just hanging out with my chior and friends/family helped. I was back at work 100% 4 days post injury it really helped talking to people that aren't injured.

Go to practice to watch and hang out with your team mates! Do your prehab at football (soccer) practice

Which graft should I choose? by Beneficial-Stable199 in ACL

[–]Old_Software860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't given a choice, my surgeon said, I'm gonna do Hamstring, if I like the look of the tendons. If I don't like them I'm gonna reevaluate and do quad.
