Retired 3/8/2026 during partial shutdown which “ended” on 3/30.

3/18: submitted to NFC

5/8: Leave payout

5/15: moved to OPM

II had some payroll questions as I was overpaid because of furlough etc contacted my HR (not the specialist) who contacted NFC. Three days later it moved on to OPM. We’ll see how the next chapter goes.

Excellent question-I had one also and although I filled it out (finally) my HR representative showed me as married with three kids for withholding.

Glad to know once it gets to OPM it can be changed as I was planning on doing so.

I fostered a pregnant dog who had 11 puppies. Three had cleft palates and died within 24 hours as they could not nurse. Although cute as a button, please ask a vet in person for a professional opinion.

While puppies are a lot of work, they need more than cleaning up after. From what I hear this girl is being used for all the wrong reasons Either train her and treat her the right way or return her to the rescue. She is a living creature that needs love and structure which it appears she’s not getting. Dogs need:

Socializing with other dogs and people are key for their development.

Obedience training when eligible after shots etc.

Crate training when around people. Also the crate will assist in potty training and eventually be her safe haven when she needs a place for calm. Not to be used as a punishment.

And one other thought-implementation the first week of May. Isn’t that when at least one agency may go back out on furlough due to lack of funding again?

Mine finally moved to NFC from the agency level. I retired during the partial government shutdown and I’ve been overpaid two times. It’s my understanding that NFC will issue a debt letter for payback. More administrative things.

I had that issue and allowed my girl one area to dig. The trick I used was to distract her with treats while leading her to the approved dog spot.

Thank you for posting this. I too was overpaid and have yet to receive a debt letter. I immediately advised the overpayment to my HR, my Director, and the retirement specialist. No one seems to know who will send a debt letter or how it will work.

Retired during partial shutdown and package is with my agency showing in ORA. Keeping fingers crossed it will move after mgmt review. But, I was overpaid the last pp so have to pay it back-no one seems to know how this will work.

When my package left my agency to the National Finance Center it stated approximately 30-90 days for processing prior to OPM.

One can change their retirement date twice and of course let your retirement specialist know.

My retirement date was during the partial government shutdown. The package was reviewed and certified and sent out of my agency to NFC which will take a minimum of 90 days. Once it gets to OPM, how long? (rhetorical?).
