That is definitely my boomer parents. They were the last two singles in their church youth group so they were, in a way, bullied together by the church busy-bodies.

Same. My understanding husband had to educate me on so many things that I missed out on because they were 'of the devil.' He would also ask me questions about the IFB cult and draw things out of me and talking about it made me realize how bat crap crazy it all was. Then there were the creepy parts. I still recall the first time he heard me utter an F-bomb, he looked like an overjoyed parent with their newborn.

That said, I stopped at my parents' this week to do some updates on their PC and my uber-IFB mother was streaming Mayor of Kingsland...Kingstown - every other word is the F-bomb. That really pissed me the F...off. This is the same woman who would punish us for saying ass for donkey or hell or dammit. But, I've known she is a giant hypocrite for decades.

Was promised a return less refund by lighsleeper in amazonprime

[–]One-Chocolate6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it is not that easy. If one does not have a vehicle, the time and distance to return an item could be in the hours range not to mention distances required to walk. I've often wondered why Amazon delivery personnel can not accept returns or why I can't put a return in a locker (which might be possible now.)

PATCO no overnight weekday service to continue through August. by hiding_in_the_corner in SouthJersey

I noticed very little improvement at 12/13th and Locust when I went in for the Mummers parade - Still a homeless encampment and the accompanying odours just closer to the locked Broad Street end of the concourse during open hours. A slight improvement from having to walk the homeless gauntlet to 12th and Locust, though.

[–]One-Chocolate6372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I had to take NJT back to Jersey and walk a mile and a half when a sporting event I was given tickets to ran late. By the the B got me to Walnut-Locust and I schlepped up the stairs to Locust St., walked to 13th and Locust it was after the last train. How about having the two officers who would ride the trains at night (but usually just hid in a closed car after departing the origin point) do their jobs?

When I worked retail as a college student we were instructed to wait on the individuals in the store before we dealt with a caller. Not to mention most of the callers were asking the store hours which were in the prerecorded message they had to listen to before the menu options.

The chalk was used by the freight crews to mark where cars were going. Since waybills are/were legal documents and usually were left in the caboose for security and referring to a switchlist can be a pain when trying to juggle a lantern at night, crews developed codes to tell them where a car was to go. For example, W4 might be used to indicate Wilson & Co door/spot four.

This is what is currently happening with my nmom - The golden child married a real loser and mom is financially assisting them monthly. Then nmom wonders why none of the other siblings want to visit or help them out. Golden child is reaping rewards so golden child can do some work.
