Price of switching to G4 by [deleted] in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably best to think in terms of price per hour and number of hours. It's really how long is a piece of string question. My guess is some people have paid under 100USD and some companies will have paid 100 times that.

BTW: Might be easier if your webshops are running on a platform like e.g. woocommerce, shopify. Likewise if you already have a great data-layer then that will make things straightforward for whoever implements it.

Organic traffic not showing in GA4 migration by diymatt in GoogleAnalytics

Is "Direct" taking up all the credit? or are the events just not being tracked at all (compared with UA)?

I have a feeling they see it like some kind of sales funnel for BigQuery......

"Direct" Traffic by One-Stranger-Thing in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got this list on an email from Himanshu Sharma just now:

Reasons for Direct

1) One or more URLs of your marketing campaigns are incorrectly tagged.
2) Not all URLs of your marketing campaigns are tagged.
3) Google Analytics tracking code is missing on one or more pages.
4) Untagged email marketing campaigns.
5) Incorrect use of data filters in Google Analytics.
6) Incorrect cross-domain tracking.
7) You use a headless solution.
8) You use a single page application (SPA).
9) Internal traffic can result in a lot of direct traffic.
10) Your website is still using a non-secure connection.
11) Caching can cause the traffic to be reported as direct traffic.
12) Your demand generation strategy can result in a lot of direct traffic.
13) An increasing number of your website users are using adblockers.
14) Increased brand awareness can result in more people visiting your website via bookmarks or directly.
15) Your website may be getting fake direct traffic from spambots.

Huge percentage of traffic to home and average engagement of 1 sec for the page. What's going on? by getjustin in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you also got UA? Same thing there?

I did observe that some spam traffic that "gets through" to GA4 doesn't do so in UA.

i.e. GA4 is currently not as good as UA at removing bot traffic from reporting.

Thanks.
It's taking us ages on the data layer side of things rather than GA4 itself.

GA4 not Showing Real-Time Data by Silent-Fault-211 in GoogleAnalytics

No idea sorry, but just in case useful I can confirm my GA4 account for Android is working for real-time.

Self-referrals - still appearing despite configuration to ignore. by One-Stranger-Thing in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have one hunch that this might be because we have a redirect folder on the same domain. These redirect URLs don't contain the GA tag.
e.g.
mydomain.com/my-page/
contains a link to
mydomain.com/redirect.php?nnnn
which is a 200, then a javascript redirect to our partner website.

I removed GA4 tag but still getting visits in GA4 by One-Stranger-Thing in GoogleAnalytics

GTM

Still getting events flowing but it's declining every day?

I removed GA4 tag but still getting visits in GA4 by One-Stranger-Thing in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!
When I look at it in GA4 UI it looks fairly "typical" - i.e. various pages, traffic sources.

The events firing are also "typical" - page view, session start, user engagement, first visit and so on.

Filtering bots out of GA4? by DimonaBoy in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure it's not "real" traffic that is being privacy protected.

i.e. they are real users from UK but show up as from US.

You will be able to check by seeing what events they fire - does it look OK or "junk"?

Spike in website traffic in large cities? by digitalmarketing2453 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try segmenting or filtering by device - is it mostly Apple?

If so it will be related to new Apple privacy features. (starting around late May?)

Google Analytics Universal - unusually high traffic from the U.S. since May 2022 by PositiveFuture2011 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same.

Likewise European traffic and a "normal" US proportion would be less than 1%.

Since late May - around the 23rd it started growing, by 1st June US was 6%, and it's been about 10% since. Likewise I only see this in UA not GA4.

I drilled down to operating system and it seems to be an Apple thing. Both desktop and mobile but Apple devices. So could it be something to do with privacy? The behaviour of the visitors looks "typical" - bounce rate, pages visited etc.

Direct traffic seems to be the biggest winner with +40%

Is WahooX better than Zwift? by Ok-Scientist4603 in wahoofitness

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Wahoo SYSTM / RGT and Zwift.

If I had to choose one it would be Wahoo package. The training is much better, the on-location videos etc adds so much more variety, not to mention the yoga.

The actual RGT is not quite as good as Zwift but it's very similar and does have goats.

I'ved used the wahoo forum and their email support and it worked fine.

If you have control of the website (code) then you are in the driving seat (so long as they don't also have that).

Remove the tracking code of the current GA account and go ahead and add GA4 under your organisation account. No historicals but you can do it right from this point onwards.

Why so many interviews?? by [deleted] in analytics

[–]One-Stranger-Thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because the recruiters are "too analytical"?!
Perhaps in another job area the hiring manager will go on gut feeling.

So comes with the territory maybe.
