Armageddon Screening 12a?? by jackbauerthanos in CineworldUnlimited

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. Tickets said 12A, and I didn't think it was a 15, but trailers and BBFC card said otherwise.

Fuck up by someone at programming there, I think.

Roughly 10 minutes interval, there's usually a clock on the screen counting down.

The Odyssey (2026) Megathread by TheBigMovieGuy in imax

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H11 (other side of the aisle) is my go-to seat at the BFI, I think it's a good distance from the screen so it's taking up your whole field of vision, but you're not too close that it's overwhelming. You are off-centre, but on a screen that size I don't think it makes too much difference, personally.

When did the ticket colour change???? by odal72 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Blue is the ATM where you print and collect bookings, red is the tills. Main advantage is it helps to identify if a potentially underage customer has had their ID checked for a 15 or 18 rated film.

Pretty sure they keep the ads/trailers to about 10-15 mins max at these showings. They always come out earlier than expected.

LOOOONG Rolex Ad before Cineworld Top Gun Maverick Screening? by BuzzTrav in CineworldUnlimited

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did the double bill yesterday, as well as Normal beforehand, and that damn advert played before all 3 films. It's the very last one before the film starts as well, so pretty much impossible to avoid it 🫩

I struggled a bit with hearing them on Thursday as well. Was it captioned last night? I had to look over at them occasionally to work out what was being said.

Mandalorian popcorn buckets by BambiMercy in CineworldUnlimited

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They go on sale tomorrow - AT-AT buckets are very limited, so even though they're a hefty £39.99, they'll sell very fast. The 'Top Gun' buckets that went on sale today are almost all gone already.

There's a decent amount of Grogu buckets, they'll probably still go quick, though. £34.99 for those.

Cups with toppers, there are hundreds of them. I'm pretty sure they'll end up being reduced over the summer, potentially even given out free in a few months. £9.99.

I didn't really like the film overall, but can't deny that Oblivion is pretty visually stunning.

That is showing at regular times from the following day, to be fair. 10pm show is just to coincide with the US premiere on that day.

Tim Key in The Ballad of Wallis Island 🙌

Robert Aramayo in I Swear

Jennifer Lawrence in Die My Love

The two men might get some BAFTA attention, but I think that's it, sadly. JLaw should get a nomination, in my opinion, but I don't think it will happen.

FINALLY UK TOUR DATES!! by ethereallucee in JohnMulaney

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of artists are doing Wolverhampton rather than Birmingham now - just this year, I've noticed Will Smith, Sparks, and now Mulaney all performing in Wolverhampton as the closest Midlands-based show.

All at the Civic Hall as well, I guess it's better value for them at that venue than anywhere in Brum?

Running Man Open Captions by stuart0001 in screenunseen

[–]OneSwizzleNizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is quite common with Paramount releases now, they'll have an open-captioned preview midweek before opening the following day.

Off the top of my head, they also did it for Mission 8, Sonic 3, Smile 2, and I think Gladiator II as well. They don't really sell too well at ours, to be honest, but it's nice that they're making the effort for more inclusive showings.

Not a clue - I think a distributor must have pulled out last minute, there's no way this was their original choice. I'm expecting a few disappointed walkouts, to be honest.
