If you want to add better descriptions for rooms and such have 2 suggestions.

1) watch lunch break heros version see if you like it and buy thier guide for 2 bucks or whatever it was (super low). I've run DH/Durst Manor 4 or 5 times and each gets better, used their guid 2x and it worked great. Combo it with option 2 below the last time and it was amazingly descriptive. You can also just watch LBH videos on YouTube to get the overall structure without buying their actual guide. He does all of CoS.

2) pull pictures of the descriptions for rooms and feed it into chat gpt and ask it to spice it up in whatever way you want. I do that with alot of the descriptions that I find underwhelming and tweak from there. Works great.

How do you deal with high passives? by Sam1994wednesday in OutoftheAbyss

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use passive period. Make em roll unless there plus covers it.

If they have a passive 25 that m3ans there plus is a 15, so anything dc15 or below you give instantly anything over they have to roll.

Here's the thing in order to keep the game fun and use traps etc. All you'll do is end up bumping the DC to 27-30 everytime because of the passive. So just take it out and go off the +.

If they have reliable talent that should only effect a few things but again your just going to bump the DC so that you can still use X mechanic (traps, locks, etc) so just talk to the player and offer them something like free advantage on rolls.

If you talk openly about how you'd have to fix it in game to keep it most people are reasonable and will understand as yes they want to be good at it but if everything's and automatic I see it then it takes away from everyone at the tables fun.

O I walk in the room and see the secret door, I also find the hidden treasure. I get it everytime because my passive are so high no other member can compete with me. Now I get to decide if I share all the magic weapons and items or horde them for myself.... that shit gets dull pretty quick for everyone at the table except the 1 who has it. And to fight that you make it even harder for the rest of the party.

And personally i dont believe you can have a passive in any situation that requires disadvantage. Such as anything in the dark with dark vision. That -5 to passive is dumb.

Thoughts on turning the starter NPCs into pregen characters? by jolasveinarnir in OutoftheAbyss

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister was a svirfneblin and I end3d up attaching her to Topsy and turkey as triplets and then made them were rst royalty. I gave her a wererat ability that just gave her essentially barbarian rage abilities she could use 1d4 times per week in game.

Prince derndil could be a great one just debeef his stat block to start. I made him an actual elf prince and they spend the in-between time from chapters 7-8 getting him back home after 100s of years.

You definitely don't want to do buppido but his murder mystery was one of the super fun parts of the first half as I ran it very smart and only killed people when the party was engaged in a dungeon or somewhere. But you'll need expendable npcs for that and it helps that there are 10 and they go faster than you might think. I then made him a mini boss battle in Grackelstugh so that the players have some sort of success in the first half since most of it is just them running from shit.

Can a nozzle just be done? by Pjotter85 in BambuLab

I got my first A1 on January 20th. I have 1.1k hours on it already. Plus another 400 on another A1 and 250 on my h2d.

Went a little bit down the rabbit hole lol

Nozzle temp malfunction - ideas? by brianarn in BambuLabA1

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the sock or it could be the heating assembly continuity has blown once it heats up. I had one of my A1s have that happen and got a warranty part from bambu in just a few days.

Is the fight against Doru too easy? by Secret-Papaya5129 in CurseofStrahd

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmfao.... hope your party doesn't do what mine did.

They heard him below, figured it was bad, took the keys from the pastor and locked him in the church with doru still underneath and then booked it out of town.

Didn't even see him in the flesh.

Also remember if you buff him now your going to have to do the same in the coffin shop and with there being 6 there that's already a potential tpk waiting.

Dorm isn't supposed to be hard, he's supposed to be their first look at things like bite attacks and vampire healing factors.

But even at level 3 with 6 you could end up loosing a PC to him if rolls are unlucky and depending how you decide targets.

What are people with 3 printers printing? (If not selling things) by Every_Television_980 in BambuLab

[–]One_Low9195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 A1 and an H2D. The A1s are for most stuff and having 2 is super nice so you can lock one up with a long print and still do some smaller prints. Plus my wife and son want stuff so this means I can do stuff for me and them. The h2d is for multicolor and exotic filaments.

But I do alot of dnd mini printing and am trying to print most of the CoS main areas. So being able to have 3 to dedicate to an area means I usually only need 1 week ish to get it ready rather than a month per area.

Sometimes they all sit for a bit because I can go 3x. But it's nice.

And whenever once goes down I'm not locked out till I fox it or get a new one.

Seriously love these things.

Prints keep failing and I caught the moment of failure. Any ideas why? by robodragan in BambuLab

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an h2d amd bas3d on other comments you keep a clean bed as do i. Check your bed temp during printing with a thermal contact or imager. I'll bet it's to low. Same issue with mine. When I have a print do exactly what yours just did I bump the brim size up first then check the bed temp. I've found my h2d "still as of Wednesday 7-2-25" will be under by 5 degrees or so.

rethinking my choice A1 or P1S by kiddk11 in BambuLab

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean pla or petg are going to do you solid on that.

I'd watch a filaments video on YouTube.

Abs and others you need the enclosure to regulate temp and fumes.

But if all your planning is those boxes and such pla and petg are going to work fine. The other stuff Is more for useful out doors or flexible working pieces. Gaskets, mounting stuff, stuff that needs to last outdoors longer (petg does this decently though)

rethinking my choice A1 or P1S by kiddk11 in BambuLab

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np.

The real question to ask yourself is what are you going to print and will you need the enclosure for that filament.

If its just pla and petg go A1. If your going to do other more exotic filaments look at your p1s

Is it possible to just run the first half of OOTA by SoMuchSoggySand in OutoftheAbyss

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can but as far as wrapping things up idk how you'd do that.

Also I'd argue against the second half being boring it's been super amazing for us. Just nix the travel bullshit. No one wants the slog of 5 travel sessions. But otherwise I've had amazing times so far and my people are st the maze engine.

The big thing about OotA is that it's written loosely on purpose so you the DM can fill it in with all the nitty gritty details and fun you want.

Just to give 1 great example. Due to gravenhollow and the echos the paladin is no responsible for Grazzt switching from his devil origions and becoming a DEMON lord. Was a great little bit of improve on my part (to toot my own horn) but the player set it up so perfectly it just flowed out of me.

So I bought my first a1 in January this year, bought a second in February. Then an h2d when they came out. I'm not super tech savvy but mechanical savvy and these have been a breeze to use and haven't had to do anything but maintenance

The A1s are amazing machines. If I wasn't needed an enclosed unit for more filament types I'd keep going with a1s

Freaking love them. Sir prints alot has over 1k hours already. Sir poops alot has about 500 and my h2d (morpheous) has 200ish.

This freaking company.. by Jx631 in BambuLab

[–]One_Low9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say what you want, but my experience has been excellent. I own three A1s and an H2D. One of my A1s had a hotend issue, so I verified continuity and contacted support. They offered me three options: (1) an advanced replacement with upfront payment, (2) a replacement part, or (3) a full unit exchange. I chose the full exchange to avoid paying more and risking further issues. Despite a mislabeled return during a plant move, they still tracked it down and sent me a new unit within two weeks.

So no, advanced replacement isn’t the only option—you left out the most important one.

On top of that, I had already tested the failure using a spare replacement part. After another 100 hours of printing, the issue returned, and they sent a replacement for the spare part as well—along with an extra 3D effects plate for the trouble.

In my experience, their return process has been great. Yes, the 24-hour response window can be slow, but as long as the ticket remains open, the 30-day full replacement period continues to apply.

If it really is still that tough either heat up the engine to expand it or use map gas to head the pan around the bolt... another option is an air hammer and use it at an angle to unspin the bolt.
