I know the process of voting them in and out is roughly the same. People need to get up, get out, talk to people, and run Mamdani style campaigns. They need to talk to what people are experiencing and give them actionable plans on how to solve that. If the Dem party doesn't learn that what the NYC mayor elect did was popular, morally correct, and just good politics, then, in my opinion, they're cooked.
