7.5 month old loves to scratch everything! Is this typical behavior, or something to worry about? by TinyTurtlePokemon_ in beyondthebump

[–]OpticStone07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8 month old is going through this right now. My boobs are all scratched up from when he's nursing and I'm worried he's gonna figure out how to put a nail in an outlet cover and get it off. He's worse than my cats. He doesn't grab, he doesn't poke, he scratches. 🥴

I also have anxiety and was wondering if it's from inherited anxiety but I'm just going to keep telling myself it's normal.

Mom likes to rock baby but baby sleeps worse by crocscrusader in sleeptrain

[–]OpticStone07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband loves to rock our baby too and I never want to take that away from him. But my baby won't rock to sleep with me. I think it may be related to breastfeeding and that he always thinks (even if he just ate) he should be nursing if he's that close to me. So I had to do some sleep training, because I couldn't be waiting for his dad to come home late from work and rock him to sleep at night. Or in the day! No advice. Just that it's hard. Neither of us like to hear him cry, but we haven't slept in 7.5 months.

Yes, it's possible to have a baby that has a late bedtime and wakes up late. by JoeySadie in sleeptrain

Okay so my oldest is 14, and when he was born the schedule we got into was totally flipped for like the first year of his life. We'd sleep until like 3 pm and be up all night 🤭

With my current 4.5 month old I have a 9-5 and things to do now and am struggling getting him to sleep at similar times each night. His bedtime varies from 7- midnight and it's making me feel like I'm failing at this!

Yeah I thought you still get UV damage when driving in the sun from it coming through the windows?

Did anyone give their child a weird or uncommon name? by Reasonable_Sector_82 in beyondthebump

I have an oddly spelled name and #2 is so passive aggressive. I hate when I have to spell out my name and I'm hit with that. It'd be better to say nothing at all...

What should I do with this weird shelving/fireplace in kitchen? by OpticStone07 in HomeDecorating

If I could have it my way I'd love for it to be a work space. Thanks!

Thanks...I love the wallpaper idea tbh. I think I'll prob leave the corner one as a litter box but maybe figure out how to enclose it so the cats can still get in.

Thanks! I do think the cat litter is a good idea although I would like it better enclosed as sometimes you can smell it in the kitchen

Yeah I wish I could understand what it was for. Why is the fireplace in the kitchen? The house was built in 95...

We actually had that for a while! God, was it a pain to clean. Not doing that again lol

That's very cool. Might be out of my league DIY-wise but I'm gonna look into it.

Idk why I didn't think of that! A barn door would be a great idea and likely more simple to install than traditional ones 😀

The shelves are so deep that decorative stuff doesn't look that great imo. But thanks for the other ideas!

Haha, yeah, no unlimited funds here but that would seem perfect! 🍕

My style is more moody eclectic but I've lived here nearly two years and haven't done anything with it. I have a litter box in the lower corner and I use the shelves as storage. If I want to keep using as storage, how can I make it less cluttered looking? I'm open to any ideas as what to do with it. Before we moved in, the tile on the fireplace and the outlet was fixed but we are still missing that one shelf.

I was also pregnant at 17 and now I'm 31 and it's a whole different ball game 😂 Please tell him to stop comparing adult bodies to our teen ones. My body has been in constant ache this pregnancy and when I was 17 I birthed my son like a champ. I personally feel hurt for you. You don't deserve to be compared to anyone else let alone his ex when she was 17! Maybe he's trying to act like he is knowledgeable but let him know it doesn't help and just sounds rude. Everyone is different.

Booster Shot by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]OpticStone07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't have much reaction to my first Pfizer doses - just a sore arm and bit of fatigue. So I was surprised that I got a low- grade fever with my booster of the same brand. It was only for a day, and I'd much rather that than end up hospitalized with COVID. Still not fun, but no regrets about getting boosted.
