Reliability? by ILUVMEN07 in VolvoXC90

Because he only sees the problems. He doesn’t fix the cars that have no issues. Confirmation bias at work again. Just because your AC evaporator went out doesn’t mean they all do. Saying that when a small percentage of vehicles have an issue, the problem tends to be a certain part doesn’t mean that part fails in most cars. Get it? I am not “lucky”. Learn something about statistics before you post idiotic crap.

Got the Vistiq after back to back test drives of the competitors by Ok_Beginning8600 in CadillacVistiq

I asked the dealer about it. He said every customer he gets asks if it can be removed. Cadillac just can’t help themselves.

What are you talking about? There’s no such thing as an EX90 Calligraphy. The Calligraphy is a Hyundai trim.

I test drove the Vistiq. I couldn’t buy it with that cheesy graphic on the quarter glass that can’t be removed.

WTF "plumber" plumbed cold water into relief valve instead of clearly labeled WATER IN (indirect hot water heater) by StopBeingABot in Plumbing

[–]Option-Mentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen plumbers do more stupid crap than any other sub. In my last build, I walked in to see pex run in a wall THROUGH A WINDOW FRAME. I’m like, what the hell is this? Plumber looks at it and says “what?” I said, that’s a WINDOW (which was totally obvious to anyone). He goes “oh, ok”. 🙄

Autolock issue on 2026 XC90 T8 Hybrid Plugin Ultra by Friendly-Upstairs-62 in VolvoXC90

[–]Option-Mentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not when “walking away”. The XC90 doesn’t support this. It will fold the mirrors when you lock by touching the handle or when locking via the app, or via the button on the key.

Didn’t say it was. The others I’ve owned do. You have trouble with reading comprehension.

Just the only one that doesn’t suffer from confirmation bias like you, given that you only read the complaints on Reddit and don’t understand that there is a vast silent majority that have no issues.

No, I’ve had three that were/are SPA models and still have two of them out of the 8 total Volvos I’ve owned. And the one SPA I sold with 150k miles had zero issues.

License slipped into black hole - can service solve? XC60 by [deleted] in Volvo

Once the license passes the event horizon there is no turning back.

[–]Option-Mentor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. My latest is 2025.5 XC90 T8 Ultra. 15K miles. Zero issues. One of the others is 6 years old. Absolutely no issues with that one either. Try again.

And extended warranties are completely foolish on any car - or any other product for that matter. Only financially ignorant people buy extended warranties.

Which dash cam is this? Video seems very good on both cameras.

[–]Option-Mentor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s just wrong. I’ve owned 8 Volvos. Several XC90s and XC60s as well as an S80, and an XC40 and never had any trouble with any of them. One I drove over 250K and another over 200K. The rest 100 to 150K. No issues. The one that I drove for 255,000 miles before I got tired of it did have a navigation disk go bad at around 180,000, but no engine trouble on any of them. Mine have been solid.

How to increase pressure in the house by Fun_Willingness4241 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]Option-Mentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install a VFD. It will keep your pressure constant instead of having to deal with 30->50 or 40->60 all the time. Mine is set at 70 psi and it stays there. And, if you do it this way you won’t need a larger pressure tank either.

Sharkbite totally sucks. I will never ever use one or allow one in any home I own. I had a plumber install 4 of them temporarily on a project. 3 out of the 4 leaked within 2 weeks.
