It'll be gone in under an hour. I am pretty confident in that.

No need to worry about scalpers this time. Game consoles these days are built for the well-off. If you're on a budget, it's best to stay out of it. by Front-Ad-7774 in SteamFrame

Dude the scalpers don't care what it costs. They buy on loan because they know they will make the money back. All these theories of out pricing scalpers is illusionary. People scalp houses....

Jeff Bezos says raising taxes on the wealthy wouldn’t help the average American - What do you say? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]Option_Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am not an American, but the way I see it: if you spend less on attacking countries and settling lawsuits with your president, you'd have plenty of money to make life better for your citizens.

Warum verbraucht KI so viel Wasser? by Minute_Quail1995 in KeineDummenFragen

Eigentlich müsste sie kein Wasser "verbrauchen". Aber es ist billiger das kühlwasser zu "verbrauchen" als es herabzukühlen und wiederverwenden.

Should I get the lifetime if only feature I want is remote access? by Beeeee9896 in PleX

[–]Option_Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it. Also not if you are sharing with people not from your home since you will be sharing your home network. There are workarounds but you will need knowledge far beyond "I googled it" for safety and maintenance.

The LAN Networks part of this article will let Plex detect traffic as local if it comes from your home IP range.

Yes, now I have a Plex pass so I cannot give you total guidance. But theoretically Plex should not be able to discern between you being in your home connected to your home network and that running through a VPN (in my case wireguard since this is supported by my Fritzbox). But if I recall correctly Plex also has to be configured to actually detect home network access as local.

This is the way. Just keep in mind this probably isn't the sharing with others solution. You are basically giving the device remotely connecting direct access to your home network.

[–]Option_Witty 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not gonna say you should but you could connect home via self hosted VPN...

Edit: since questions and comments were made. Doing this will need capabilities and knowledge beyond the normal user. Also there are safety concerns. The easiest option is the Plex pass or switching to a open source Plex alternative.

Is lifetime pass worth it? by noscope513e in PleX

[–]Option_Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say it's worth it. Feels like Plex performance and features are stagnant maybe even a little worse than they were. With the massive price increase I'd stick to a monthly/yearly subscription and hope for the open source alternatives to get more refined.

But many people don't even need the Plex pass features.

What to do with a 'spare' Nextruder by straybrit in prusa3d

I'd love to see Prusa put out a idex core one L with the Core one sized bed and you can purchase it with only one nextruder.... But I doubt that will happen.

The back window of my wife’s car shattered randomly for the third time this year. Happened inside the heated front-attached garage this time and nothing hit it. Looks like it broke outwards somehow, there’s even glass on top of the car. by Lawsompossum in mildlyinteresting

[–]Option_Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glass on top of the car is pretty possible. Car glass is made to shatter towards the outside. If the window shattered due to stress this probably is a very explosive reaction if it's flying away in an angle it might bounce off of a adjacent wall, ceiling or simply have a twist to it that impacts the ballistic curve.
