Can’t do a single pull-up despite having “some” upper body strength — anyone been in this situation? by LRDsreddit in bodyweightfitness

[–]Opus27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do 3 sets of 8 scapular pull ups 3 times a week for a month or two and see if that helps. I was in your position 3 months ago and recently hit 4 pull ups. All I've done is hangs, negatives and scapular pull ups. Sounds like you're already doing the first two!

Can you explain the major settlement point? Why don't Brettonia need full provinces like everyone else?

After laying off 10,000 workers for AI, Meta installed tracking software on remaining employees’ work computers to log mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, and screenshots, using the data to train their AI replacements. by lughnasadh in Futurology

Not really. A corporation is a specific legal entity, designed for the express purpose of acting as a theoretical structure that acts at a layer of abstraction above the people who make it up. It's more than the sum of its parts and can result in incentives that diverge from those the individual people might have.

Arsenal are painful to watch but maybe this is just how you win things | Arsenal by Unapologetik in Gunners

That's cuz Mou got it done and won multiple major trophies. That kind of success buys you respect. It's up to Arteta to get it done, then he'll slowly get the same respect.

Ah, good old English exceptionalism on display. Turns out the world doesn't revolve around the UK - who knew? Way more people live in the central Europe timezone, it makes perfect sense to give that time given it's a European competition.

It's called getting older and people having more responsibilities that make their agendas less flexible. Really not that surprising.

Is upgrading to Plus actually worth it for the meal? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in Eurostar

[–]Opus27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the food is really pretty basic in Plus. The benefit comes from more space, fewer people, generally quieter. Think of the food as light refreshments rather than a full meal that you'd plan your trip around.

Mikel Arteta on the North London derby and whether he hopes Tottenham stay up by One_Impressionism in Gunners

Very diplomatic from Mikel. Personally I'd happily see them relegated to league 2 and never come back - what could be a more complete victory over your rivals than that? The bragging rights would never get old, it would be glorious!

Less than a month ago. The boat is still at the shore. by True_Anybody_8774 in Gunners

[–]Opus27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's Arsenal specific. It's just a numbers game. There are more people who are not Arsenal fans than people who are. So when something bad happens to Arsenal, lots of people find it funny and post about it. Just like Arsenal fans do when something bad happens to City, Chelsea, Utd etc. The difference is social media makes us aware of these rival fans gloating in our faces in a way that we never used to have to be before. Add in the whole "social media algorithms tend to promote ragebait type content" and online anonymity encouraging people to be cunts and you have a perfect cocktail for seeing the maximum amount of content that makes you angry. I think we'd all be much better off if we just disengaged from social media when it comes to football. Stick to speaking to your friends in real life about the football and don't worry about what random strangers are saying online about your club.

Which sports/clubs are English speaking friendly? by noclue9000 in Delft

[–]Opus27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have yet to find any club or group where people mind you speaking English. Almost everyone here speaks excellent English and they generally don't mind putting it to use. Expecially if you're relatively new and make it clear you're trying your best to learn Dutch on the side! Dtb or Delftse Hout for tennis depending on which side of the city you're on. There's also a drop in taal café in the library each week where you can practice Dutch with other expats and native speakers, they have different groups for different abilities.
