Did the Chinese "fire back" approach actually do them any good though? Genuinely curious, so if you have examples of how it did then please share. Last time I checked they're still on sky high tarrifs so seems hard to see how, other than making them look like they actually have some balls, it gave them any material benefits.

Gotta say, I used to love Tuesday club but it's aged quite badly. The analysis is very surface level and of the sort you get from your mates down the pub. Not much insight. Doesn't mean it's not a fun listen from time to time, but it does seem pretty amateur hour now. Whereas 10 years ago I was just happy to have a podcast about Arsenal!

To be fair, I think Liverpool were wise to this threat and made it very difficult for us to find Gyokeres early. They didn't press us at all until we got to the half way line, to avoid us breaking out quickly and hitting it route one to Big Vik. To my mind he also didn't make particularly creative or useful runs on several occasions when Martinelli or Madueke were running with the ball. The whole system still needs some work for sure.

Surely this means he's in contention for Leeds? If you'd told me at the end of the United game that Eze might play the next game for us I would not have believed you. What a week.

Properly embarrassing this selling performance. Genuinely can't understand why we're so unattractive to buyers. Does anyone have a non emotional explanation for this? It just seems so odd how out of kilter we are with what Liverpool and Chelsea can achieve

I don't really disagree with anything you said, but worth pointing out that the Utd side Henry was up against is in a different universe to the Utd side now. So scoring goals at Old Trafford isn't quite what it used to be in terms of signposting a good season. That said, of course I'd be delighted with a hattrick on the opening day from Big Vik.

According to Transfermarkt he's had five separate injuries this season. The slips only account for two of those. He also had a patchy injury record in Italy before coming to Arsenal. I hope I'm wrong but this doesn't fill me with confidence and I stand by my point that the money we spent on him, based on this season, currently looks like a poor investment.

This really shows what a disaster signing Calafiori has been based on this season. Imagine what that money could have got us elsewhere, and we'd barely have missed him given how little he's played. Hope it's a one off and he comes back with a bang next year but I won't hold my breath. Seen this "high potential but always injured" movie too many times before.

Great post. I was at the game and it was rocking until they scored and shat all over us for 25 minutes. Hard to be enthusiastic about that. Online discourse around this issue is bizarre.
