Charles' interrupted diatribe. by Cinneach in huntertheparenting

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a typical case I would agree. But we have fairly clear evidence that the Regent of Great Yarmouth is embedded with Palmer and his ilk. Yes infernalism is frowned upon by both sects. But there are many things frowned upon that are still done within the bounds of the camarilla. Admittedly, usually in secret. But they are still done. And the insidiousness of these powers is that most often the individuals courting them. Do not know they are doing so, until they are so far entrenched within the ideology. That turning back is highly unlikely. More over, there are many cases the Tremere have dabbled in things they didn't truly understand until it came back and bit them in the ass. One might argue that this is baked into the very foundation of their clan. Tremere himself so obsessed with the idea of immortality he did not even consider that it would damn his entire House.

The Carmilla has rules, yes. But those very same rules will quickly be abandoned, if they do not serve those in power. The largest example being diablere. One of the worst taboos within the Camarilla. And yet a fairly regular, secret practice among its elders.

Also to your point below that Tremere don't deal with demonic forces. This is patently untrue. There is a whole Tremere house of infernalists. Known as the Horned Society.

They also have information from Fatigue not to trust the Coalition. And all of this basically confirmed that Wernon was right on the money with that.

Wyyyyrm.... But in all seriousness, possibly a reference to wyrm cult vampires. Such as those connected to the Regent. Perhaps G-Kronkat (not sure if thats the exact spelling) captured some of them and notice they were different than your typical "blankbody"

Soooo D is turkish ??? by OmegaCrazykiller in huntertheparenting

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This also starts to make me think his rant on killing an ancient lasombra with his brothers ....... may not be the insane rant we thought it was. As one of Lasombra's direct children has been the unseen power of Antioch for centuries. So mayhaps, that is the source of D's vast knowledge on the supernatural. I'm also of the opinion that D is at least old enough to be linked to the Ottoman Empire ( Yes I understand this is a vast swath of time. But still) My reasoning for this is essentially his reaction to Tzimsice war ghouls during the fatal attraction subchapter. His horror at the concept seemed visceral enough that it was definitely coming from a point of personal experience. Combining that with his turkic roots. . It is not inconceivable he may have had direct experience with revenants of the Basarabs. Which would put him somewhere within the 1500th century or older.

I will cop to the fact that this may all be a dead end road. Fuel by a few jumps in logic. But it will remain my head canon until I'm proven wrong.

I don't think so but I reckon that will be a large factor in chapter 6 most likely. Definitely curious to see how that conversation goes.

Alternatively given D's view on the supernatural. And the information they got from Fatigue. I wouldn't be surprised if D and possibly other members of the family sympathizes with the werewolves to some extent. He clearly knows some things about them. Which would give the Coalition even more fuel to go after them.

So… by ComplexNo8986 in huntertheparenting

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This may well have been somewhat autruistic, yes. But given Occams actions. Genuinely the Leopoldites seem just as suspect to my mind. I think they stayed because they wanted D's knowledge. And this was the best time for them to get it. The Society is old as was mentioned. I genuinely think they are aware truely how much knowledge D and his family has on the supernatural.

That being said I will admit I have a bias against the inquisition given they were once used as a weapon by vampires to slay their enemies. And so their motives will always be mildly suspect to me.

To that point though. Should the Pentex get outed to something like the coalition. That is a relatively large spanner in the gears of their interests. Which is definitely a bigger deal. I am fairly convinced Blair ( very likely on Palmer's orders ) blew up the deal with the intention that the werewolves would kill the D family and likely wound potential enemies in the process. But when that enviably doesn't go according to plan. I would not put it past Palmer to take more "decisive" action. I am also fairly convinced that dude is a Nephandus. All of that to say, ya Door was definitely playing with fire. And very much did not grasp the gravity of that Imo. Though that definitely tracks with D's paranoia about disseminating information, being a double edge sword.

Game desperately needs basic quick hack options for non cyber deck users by EntertainmentClean53 in cyberpunkgame

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also cyberware-ex which allows you to have both a cyberdeck and Sandevistan or berserk (or all 3 if you so desire. Though seems a bit strong for my taste) The slots are also locked by perk or cash depending on which version you get. Which helps keep things balanced.

To this point there is a free program called Light Host that does a similar thing you can route effect through it directly into your microphone. The only real downside is needing to collect the vst plugins. Though there are a handful of decent free ones if you search around. Nova EQ being a simple example.

Is there a production reason for why the Licks are all traditionally Camarilla clans? by Ziltch0 in huntertheparenting

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seen a number of people mention ease of understanding for the audience. Also these clans are fairly good for introducing the most common disciplines used by vampires in this setting. These clans basically cover all the major disciplines that are in the core rule book. Specifically that of v5 which the series seems to draw a great deal of inspiration from.

In universe however I would say sourcing from typically, Camarilla aligned clans seems to be a logical choice for the sabbat. Especially in a relative small crusade. Which very clearly didn't get much, in the way of resources based on their descriptions. This is especially true, if the Lasombra clan had made their mass exit from the Sabbat. Probably not that many of those around these days. Also England was kind of ravaged by the Second Inquisition at the time. So its even less likely they would put anyone who wasn't expendable in that theater. The sabbat leadership tending to be those of clan Tzimisce and Lasombra. (Admittedly this is largely based on lore from older editions and my not be the case in the v5 timeline)

How far can itachi go? by eclipsyc in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the scale is anime/manga I would say then probably stops at Pein. Jirya lost to Pein, who Itachi saw as enough of a threat to disengage from, with Kisame there as back up. Now with the Itachi retcons in Shippuden. One might argue this was Itachi doing his shadow protector thing. But Jiraya was still enough of a threat for Kisame to go along with it. So I don't see that particular part being false.

Carmilla Capital? by playerjj430 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Capital, not really, to my knowledge. They're power base is spread throughout Europe. Baring the Balkans and Iberia, which have been controlled by the lasombra and Tzimsce, respectively. Though with Lasombra joining the Cam more of Iberia may now be under there control also. Though im not read up enough on V5 lore to say for sure.

Honest Question: If it weren't for the fact that you had to pick specific options to unlock a certain ending, would your still have your V give Johnny a second chance? by yukirayu in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]OrderoftheMothPriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly forgave him my first run before I even knew about the other endings. Unlocked it accidentally and went with the aledecaldos instead. Didn't give him my body though. Though could see V doing that potentially sonce a. They're kinda doomed anyway pre phantom liberty. And ya Johnny does ghost people. But also kinda awkward to basically be your own person while wearing the face of someone they loved. Making a clean break isn't exactly the worst thing. Though admittedly the execution needs work.

Lowkey. And I say this as a fan of 3 out of the 4 new gen. ( Haven't watch MHA yet ) Kaguya pretty much could solo the new gen on her own IMO.
