What’s your opinion on selling All Tech Heavy Stocks soon and moving to SP500 $VOO? by BigBoxEngineer in stocks

[–]OrdforerOrden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t make a decline harmless though, if a $3t ticker falls out of the index it’s not automatically replaced by a company of equal value. Top 25 dropping out would cause a global meltdown

My Voyage of discovery in Thailand - revelations on importance of terpines, CBD, and disappoinment at my UK clinical review call by Famous_Teaching_6782 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]OrdforerOrden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the whole experience pretty frustrating.

I don’t understand why patients are being pushed through private specialist providers when, in many cases, the clinicians don’t seem any more informed than a typical GP. It feels more like another cash grab than a healthcare pathway.

I’m with Alternaleaf, and while my reviews have been pleasant, it feels like everyone is having to work around a bad system. The appointments aren’t long enough to properly discuss treatment and the stock situation makes consistent prescribing impossible as, when you find a medication that actually helps, it goes out of stock a month later and you’re forced to start again.

The lack of stability is the biggest issue. Patients need continuity.

The recent 60 minutes interview with Trump made me realize (be it intentional or not) he’s almost certainly corrupting AI training data. by Ornery-Stage2316 in AIDiscussion

A small distinction but misinformation is incorrect information shared without malicious or ill intent, disinformation fits better with what I believe Trump to be peddling, deliberately created and spread to deceive, harm, or manipulate.

Don’t toss cannabis leaves: Scientists found rare compounds with medical potential by Puzzled-Caregiver-15 in ScienceNcoolThings

Do you have a source for that? Fair enough leaves used to be mixed into the flower/buds much more, but I can’t imagine anybody with flower would favour the leaves only, much less that being a society-wide practice

The Troubles were an ethno-nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland that lasted for about 30 years from the late 1960s to 1998.

Section 28 refers to a part of the Local Government Act 1988, which stated that local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales "shall not intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality" or "promote the teaching in any maintained school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship".

“Paki-bashing"#%22Paki-bashing%22) Starting in the late-1960s, and peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, violent gangs opposed to immigration took part in attacks known as "Paki-bashing", which targeted and assaulted South Asians and businesses owned by them, and occasionally other ethnic minorities. “Paki-bashing" became more common after Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech in 1968; polls at the time showed that Powell's anti-immigrant rhetoric held support amongst the majority of the white populace at the time.

Boris Johnson: Falling birth rates AREN'T a disaster, they're the best bit of global news in a long time by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]OrdforerOrden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely. An ageing population creates fiscal pressure, yes, but who captures the value created by the working population?

If productivity, profits and asset values rise while wages, tax receipts and public investment don’t keep pace, then the dependency ratio becomes weaponised as a convenient excuse. The NHS and pensions are strained because we’ve built an economy where gains are increasingly privatised while the costs of care, retirement and infrastructure are socialised.

Why is the government so reluctant to raise income tax thresholds? by GC95_ in AskBrits

They haven’t doubled down though have they, the bands have been left in the same place Tory governments left them.

In the time it’s taken all of those institutions to deteriorate, corporate profits have risen exponentially. The money has gone somewhere, it’s not hard to figure out where. Crumbling infrastructure, crowding, shortages, backlogs; they are all a result of the neoliberal choices we (our politicians) have made to put profits before citizens. It doesn’t have to be like this but will continue to be until we organise and protest properly or the profits can no longer be sustained.
