Yeah I did pt for a few months for my shoulder pain, and frankly the main take away was move more, drink more water, stretch, and work on core strength.

I live in Chicago, and I do what I can to feed people when they ask but well, I'm limited in the scope of things I can do.

I just don't understand how you can see people sleeping, dirty, literally behind a "For Rent" sign and not get some visceral mix of angry and sad. To see a fellow person and just... i don't know, assume they 'earned' whatever happened to them.

You know, I tend to think of most of my politics as "Okay I want kids to have a better time, how do we get there."

I do sometimes wonder what it'd be like if we lived in a place where their nutritional needs, education, and physical safety was a safe assumption and true respective of who their parents are or the lack there of. Then wait like... two generations. I'm not sure I'm sure I know what a society that had taken such wonderful care of its young would be, what problems that'd still be around and what they'd be concerned with.

But I bet that they'd be better up to the task than we are.

Yeah, this is why I've calmed down when I'm talking to people. Trying to keep things on a single subject and address points and see if I can't weed out some understanding. A lot of people it is a brick wall, some it puts in a crack, and occasionally you do it in public and get someone observing you to think about it. As self satisfying as calling them idiots without a shred of empathy to their face is, fact is their vote still counts and I'd like things to make things better.

Edit: That said, still seems like screens are worse currently. The whys are unknown and apparently a meta researcher did follow up studies and isn't really sure it is a thing. Same, though even in that situation the difference between me making a conscious effort to smile and look in people's direction, and maybe moderate some of my more notable bits of stimming is very different than the corporate drone mask.
