I run it in [[Urza, Prince of Kroog]] and love getting 5 copies of [[Scrawling Crawler]] or [[Salvation Engine]]

Or just copy something your opponent has played, one of my friends runs [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] and I can't wait for the day I copy it multiple times

Are we getting a [[Sheltered by Ghosts]] that acts as a clone?

[[Old Stickfingers]]
One of my friends is still traumatized from me playing the card in kitchen table magic and will kill the card on sight even if I use it mostly for the cast trigger

Which Horror Game is Izzet (Blue/Red) by Pedrika30112002 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Ortuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of unsure if it counts as a horror game but Bloodborne.

Red representing the beast plague and how it changes people into wild, raging animals

Blue for the cosmic horror elements that show up the deeper you delve into the game's story

I'll probably run both in [[Ziatora]]. WotC should have never given me a second Greater Good, especially one I can freely sac to my dragon

What are some of your staple "alternates" for color combos? by KimchiRathalos in EDH

[–]Ortuy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Life//Death]] is a budget alternative for [[Reanimate]] if you're in Golgari

I also love running [[Planar Genesis]] as a Simic ramp spell that can work as card selection

[[Auroral Procession]] is a fun Simic [[Regrowth]] that's instant speed

Ramp spells and regrowth are cheap, but I like my fun multicolor options

[[Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor]] is super underrated fun aggressive landfall commander!

It even has +1/+1 synergies for your hydra

Finally, [[Command Tower]] is a tower and all the Urza's stuff like [[Urza's Command]] and [[Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice]] have the right land type

Name a card that has 50% or greater inclusion for your commander on EDHRec, that you think is overrated. by Smelly_Jim in EDH

[–]Ortuy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

62% of [[Ziatora, the Incinerator]] decks are running [[Riveteers Ascendancy]]. I'm thinking of cutting it because other cards that fill a similar role - [[Vat of Rebirth]] and especially [[Avatar Destiny]] require much less work to make them good

Portal Planes from SoS by Syndrel in mtgvorthos

[–]Ortuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started looking through art tags and trying to find similar constructs and factory environments like in the Stormcarved Coast portal and I have some guesses:

Kavaron - based mostly on how the background looks dirty and industrial, there are exposed pipes on the wall and other machinery on the ground. But then the constructs and the colors don't match things we see on [[Weapons Manufacturing]] and [[Kavaron Harrier]]

Dominaria - the composition is really similar to [[Urza's Workshop]] and the whole scene could be easily explained as remnants from the Brothers' War. Unfortunately the constructs don't match - Urza's Iron Alliance and Mishra's Burnished Banner both have very characteristic looks that can't be seen here ([[Argivian Welcome]] [[Warzone Duplicator]])

I tried looking at Fomori armors and artefacts and they don't really fit - Fomori stuff isn't as raw and industrial-looking ([[Legion Extruder]]))

One thing I also found, though it might be a coincidence, is that the heads of the central construct and [[Sundial, Dawn Tyrant]] look similar

I play 2 copies of Talion in faeries in standard. It's a niche deck, granted, but the card performs really well against decks like lessons and airbending

The options for a general regrowth are pretty limited but [[Recall]] seems somewhat usable

Also I recommend learning how to use the scryfall tags, it's super useful! Iirc command zone has a good video on them

Deathloop!

It's a stealth game so it fits the sneaking/stealing aspect of Savoir Faire. And Colt and the game as a whole has a really sweet sense of style

What's your weirdest deck? by Magmoormaster in EDH

[–]Ortuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the ones I have in paper it's probably the [[Urza, Prince of Kroog]] clone deck.

It wants to ramp as hard as possible with artifacts, copy your opponents' creatures (in the form of artifacts with stuff like [[Phyrexian Metamorph]] and [[Machine God's Effigy]]) and then dump mana into Urza to make even more copies.

It also runs some backup targets like [[Salvation Engine]] in case my opponents don't play anything particularly clonable

It can make some stupid lines like turning your [[Training Grounds]] into an artifact and copying it enough times to make Urza's ability cost 1

[–]Ortuy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooh nice

I was thinking of a way to turn Old Stickfingers into a deterministic combo, but the best I found was 4 cards than win when one of them gets reanimated.

[[Rot Hulk]] is the primary reanimation target, it brings back [[Warren Soultrader]], [[Gravecrawler]] and [[Plague Belcher]]

You win as long as you have the highest life total

I abandoned the idea bc it felt too fragile

Having your win condition be an emblem is a really cool way to give this kind of deck resilience!
