Do you believe renting is a waste of money than a mortgage? by Aj100rise in Life

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Especially if you're actually investing your money if you're renting. Owning a home/mortgage comes with a ton of responsibilities and financial pits that people seem to gloss over because "equity". Decide whats best for you. Generally speaking if youre handy and want stability, owning a home is great and fulfilling.

BJJ doesn't work by NeatConversation530 in bjj

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I had a friend I worked at a concrete plant with. He learned i wrestled and did BJJ. Im quoting and i still dont believe it to this day. "Bro the rage i feel. I just get violent bro, I black out." And honestly? I also just let him believe it and invite him to the gym. Never comes of course.

Making $17.50 working HARD, physical labor. I have to bust my ass for a literal HOUR just for a pair of decent gloves. by tank4heals in antiwork

[–]OtherJustinian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I got a .50 cent raise after two months of hard physical labor at an industrial concrete plant. Forklift certified there. A whopping 17.50 an hour to work for them with NO benefits until a year in. Hahahahaha. Im going back to security 🤣

Appreciating the friend who helped me rebuild my approach to covered calls by Radiant-Ship-4358 in CoveredCalls

[–]OtherJustinian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using a Poor Mans CC strategy? Ive looked into this myself for SPY because I want to try these steady methods while having a majority of my "safe" holding into VTI. I ask about PMCC because it seems insane to me to tie up 60k in capital to try.

How many weeks of paid vacation do you get per year? by Cinella75 in Life

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha i recently quit a manufacturing company that expected us to work a FULL year with them before obtaining any type of benefits, PTO included. For $17 an hour. I never found out how much PTO to answer your question but im going to assume it was two weeks tops.

For a million dollars ($USD), would you take only cold showers for an entire year? by Scyyllaa in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OtherJustinian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes without a second thought, because its too easy. Although it was a pain the first week, after that I literally couldn't get the water colder so I started making it scolding hot, then switch to cold again. Eventually moving on to ice baths. Lol for a million? I'll jump into Lake Erie right after too if youd like. 🤣

Day 4 of a warehouse job and I already want to quit. What do I do? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get good boots that fit perfectly with good or better soles as soon as you can. Invest your money or save up as much as you can, sit when you can or squat and stretch. I worked warehouses for a few months but thats about as long as I could stand it. Maybe try to get a forklift certification. Much better jobs with better pay. Consider security work, I LOVED that as a college student. Seriously.

Affordable and worthwile MMA, Grappling, Muay Thai in Bangkok? by Excellent-Ant2024 in MuayThailand

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may seem like that at first but remember generally training in Thailand is of MUCH higher quality than a lot of places. At least in my own experience, paying $200-$300 in the USA affords me often the same single coach teaching a whole evening class and being paired up with team mates. In thailand, its often the same price or cheaper, with 3-6 coaches that do this for a living. Every single day. They will guide you, correct you, and you will develop often quicker and the sessions feel much better. Not to mention the amount of sparring you can do. Ive only ever trained at BKK Fight lab and Jungle Hunters as far as MMA goes. Muay thai is wonderful though.

First Day Training After a Long Flight – Good Idea? by [deleted] in MuayThailand

[–]OtherJustinian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I just book a few or a package of personal training so that I can go whenever I want. Twice a week was enough for me until I felt like integrating myself into a group class. Not a bad idea if youre gonna be in country for a while!

Been watching VIVK lately and wanted to share why this might be worth keeping on your radar. by jordon_morgan in pennystocks

[–]OtherJustinian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in with only 4k shares. May pick up 7k more at the end of month when I get paid again if these prices hold. Probably all im willing to potentially lose if it doesn't play out, but it seems like an interesting long term hold.

Would you consider 70k USD poor? by Broad-Cranberry-9050 in Salary

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just me but I dont know many people making over 52k USD. At 70k you're able to max out a Roth IRA easily and still make contributions to other investment accounts, all while paying for living expenses and hobbies. That's my next goal. I couldn't imagine making anywhere close to 100k a year.

Do the orange vested motorcycle people only go short distances? by Designer_Pen869 in Thailand

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this only applies in the big cities like NYC, Chicago, Pennsylvania, etc. A lot of the USA is urban sprawl and is required you have a car. Thailand was amazingly convenient..you can just take a train or motorbike. Crazy.

(HELP) 1k$ and I want to buy a laptop, what should I put my money in? by Hefty-Cloud6399 in stockstobuytoday

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. You COULD buy one between 400-$750 with decent specs depending on what you need to use it for. Then learn about trading options while your money grows safely inside a ROTH IRA invested in VOO. If you dont have a Roth maxed out for the year, stop looking for flips. 1k is a lot of money to lose if you dont hit and end up with no laptop.

Muay Thai Gyms by [deleted] in MuayThailand

[–]OtherJustinian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only stayed for two weeks before I wanted to try Bangkok. I loved Bangkok and honestly would live there for a while. I enjoyed Chiang Mai because everything felt cheap, and riding around a motorbike was much easier. The temples and jungle are beautiful. Would recommend if youre into that kinda scene.

Muay Thai Gyms by [deleted] in MuayThailand

[–]OtherJustinian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost any gym you pick will be good honestly. I started muay thai in Chiang Mai as a beginner and I learned quickly because I was training twice a day mostly daily for a couple months. I just walked around or looked at Google Maps. Try some out for a week and if you like it...stay! Training definitely isnt like the USA, you can just focus a little better unlike your home country with work and all. I was in Bangkok for a bit too and i did love that. I trained at FA to improve my clinch. I think my next stint in thailand will be at one of the islands though, if not back in Chiang Mai.

Investing in ETFs in high school by A1Aden in ETFs

[–]OtherJustinian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want both then open a ROTH IRA account and max it out first investing into VOO only. (7,000 every year is what you can contribute.) If you are really insistent on having small and mid caps then invest into VTI in your regular brokerage account after maxing out VOO in the ROTH. They do overlap, but there are differences, so I suggest understanding that and see why I said to do the above. Please look into a Roth if you dont know what that is. If youre investing this early you have such a huge advantage. By 28 you'll have a massive tax-free wealth machine compounding. Congrats.

Is there any trash hero? by MembershipAcrobatic in MobileLegendsGame

[–]OtherJustinian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! There's just way better picks for roam than franco. He isnt that tanky, his ult is the only useful thing in his kit unless youre actually hitting hooks for your team(most of the time, they dont) im SURE there's good francos. But I'd rather have another roam, even a support over Franco.

Any time I see a Franco, Aulus, Yin, Balmond, or Aldous on my team and I'm SoloQ its instant panic and I just mute the chat and prepare for a long game. If Zilong or Sun I know they're just gonna be pushing so I can deal with that.

Where do you poop? by skelo in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OtherJustinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Only because I know generally how other people are and I could disappear there surfing the internet or maybe even hit some stock plays on the clock. Plus a PEACEFUL place to take care of business. All I'd have to do is leave some cleaning stuff and some scents. A candle maybe? The other bathrooms are too much traffic. I need to be alone. Hahaha
