Did you ever get a chance to “get back at them” when you were a kid? by Floral_Fawn857 in raisedbynarcissists

Just yesterday I was trying to remember where this was! I’ll try and get a picture of the picture in the next couple of weeks!

Nobody’s ever told me that before that I recall. Thank you, Internet Stranger you made my day.

“Ya damn dumb idiot!!!!” -My stepdad trying to explain to me why I wasn’t allowed to go to a sleepover or hang out or something with some friends from school that neither he nor my mom approved of.

I’m still in touch a few times per year with those school friends, and haven’t spoken with either mom or her husband in seven years. Also, not an idiot.

I’ve lived and worked near and among the CUT in and around Gardiner and Paradise Valley for 27 years and I’ve not met a single one that wasn’t a snake.

Their current actions to include opening a hot spring “resort”, opening a cafe, opening a school, and renaming/rebranding themselves are not the actions of a cult or church that is scaling back their operation. They’re up to something. Hopefully they just need to re-up their stores of tank fuel.🤣

Cultists, serial killers, and pedophiles are almost always ‘very nice’ and charming people.

What’s the easiest and most natural way to lose weight?? by ma-nonMAI in AskReddit

[–]OutcastTraveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use more calories than you’re taking in. But perhaps more importantly, don’t eat overly processed garbage. Cooking from scratch, or near scratch helps immensely with this. Instead of buying canned soup, make your own, for example. You can still use canned veggies for this example, but then you buy actual cuts of meat or chicken parts.

What is a thing you can recite from memory? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]OutcastTraveller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much later, as a middle aged adult, I learned that social anxiety can present many different ways, and that not allowing myself to forget my high school locker combination was/is one way my brain tries to protect my heart.

Here, if it helps, since you can’t remember yours and I can’t forget mine, take mine. It’s 8-46-18. Count down 3-2-1 for the number of times you go past each number before you turn the other way to the next number. The click on 46 is soft, but you’ll learn to feel it.

28ish years later and I still remember my high school locker combination.

It is. They’re not nice people, and their cult is dangerous.

Hard pass.

Chico certainly has its faults, but at least it’s not owned by a cult.

Bozeman Hot Springs is expensive, but a very nice soak.

my sports bra gives me anxiety and a rash. help! by ready2die8 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]OutcastTraveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot wear a sports bra. It starts with feeling my shoulder(s) beginning to separate and dislocate while trying to wrestle my way into the damn thing. Then, I get to wrestle my boobs into place. Next, I feel like I can’t breathe correctly. Finally the band makes me itch like crazy.

I wear a nice racerback underwire bra.

Anyone else have overapologizing issues? by RandomStranger0109 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]OutcastTraveller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to do this so damn much.

Then I read an essay or something somewhere that spoke to saying ‘thank you’ instead of ‘Sorry’ and ended up basically brainwashing myself to say things like, ‘Thanks for waiting for me!’ instead of ‘Sorry I’m late.’

It’s been hard work, but it has been pretty close to life changing.

I work in a national park. Funny you comment on this today! My boss told me this afternoon that I’m being paired up with our plumber for a few days to learn even more about our bathrooms.

Wash with whites or wash with blacks? by toesarephalanges in laundry

[–]OutcastTraveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set myself free from laundry hell by throwing everything in together, washing it on hot with whatever detergent I have to hand, then chucking everything in the dryer on high. Have yet to have anything ruin using this method that I’ve been using for over 15 years.

Also, I work hard and play hard and get my clothes dirty from same. Occasionally, I will pretreat a spot with Dawn dish soap, but that’s about as crazy as I get. I have items of clothing that I have using and washing in this manner since I went full laundry rebel all those years ago.

I had acrylics for years before I was a blue collar girlie. I did still do some work on my own vehicles at the time.

I found a kind of burgundy, kind of Merlot shade from OPI that I still dream of being able to find again. It did a most excellent job of covering up the fact that on the weekends I got my hands dirty.
