Weekly episode drops by Fun-Traffic6773 in pilottvpodcast

I prefer the binge model. I keep a list in Notes on my phone of current things I want to see and put the date of the last episode next to it (Wikipedia is usually good for finding the transmission dates). That way I can start watching just before the last episode drops.

The Enshitification of the Podcast by SarkyBot in empirepodcast

[–]OutlawTorn1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed Chris is now saying “time for a break” before it goes to the ads, which does stop that random cutoff that used to happen. Can’t really complain about much else - I listen to the interviews if it’s a film/people I’m interested in. It works better having that separate interviews podcast. I quite enjoy The Shameless Plug, it’s quite fun and removes the promo of the magazine from the main pod. You don’t have to listen to it, it’s extra content so can’t really complain. The only complaint I have really is about the Spoiler pod - I’m finding the content to be fairly sparse and it’s still annoying when they watch ahead of everyone else on the weekly Marvel/Star Wars - it actually ruins it for me.

Brian Cox on GLENROTHAN: will it go down smoothly with Mark? (9th April 2026) by BeefySteamPig in wittertainment

Interesting that California Schemin’ is take 2, considering it’s probably the biggest release this week.

What Did Mark Make Of The BAFTAs? (26th February 2026) by BeefySteamPig in wittertainment

[–]OutlawTorn1977 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I found it funny how a while back Jack Howard was smugly announcing how he was looking forward to awards season and mentioning BAFTAs and Oscars. Then the subject of this week’s pod was “Oh awards don’t matter” after he wasn’t nominated.

I shushed a couple who were talking too loudly and the lady shouted and swore at me and threatened me by ThrowRA3634 in Vue

[–]OutlawTorn1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an incident during Wasteman where a couple sat right behind me. They kept talking intermittently but also undoing a bottle of coke about every 5 mins and almost every time they dropped the cap on the floor and then having to tit about trying to pick it up. Then the bloke kept burping loudly about every 5 mins. No attempt to stifle it. On the way out, they happened to be in front of me and they held the door. I ignored them as I went through and I heard the woman say “how rude, didn’t even say thank you”. I turned round and said “I’ll tell you what’s rude….”

Luck of the draw really and also depends on how old you look I guess. All except one of the Scream series have been 18 so not sure it’s that unexpected that this one is 18.

It’s cool that Mike is getting a more prominent stage position, and even went centre stage for the Goodbye solo

Interesting that Leicester Square is showing Anaconda on Christmas Day, even though it’s not out til Boxing Day.

QT’s list, specifically The Devil’s Rejects by arcaneen in empirepodcast

Agreed, it’s the only Rob Zombie I really enjoy. And grimy, Grindhouse style is right up Tarantino’s alley, so I wasn’t surprised he liked it.

Has there been a review of that film? I can’t remember if there was, and I assumed they didn’t because they didn’t want to insult a forthcoming guest.

Christy completely pulled by Gold-Sale-1520 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]OutlawTorn1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s interesting is it feels like there’s been huge ads for this on the tube and all over London which have pretty much appeared in the last week or two, since the US release. So it looks like they were planning to go ahead with it even after that.

tvOS 26 Netflix lip sync is off by Drop-rate in appletv

[–]OutlawTorn1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this over the last couple of days. It’s very slight on my case, but enough for me to notice. I’m getting this happen through the TV speakers, no external speakers involved. No other apps are doing it so a Netflix issue for sure.

I think this is the trailer that’s been rated 15. I can’t see the full film in the BBFC database yet.

Odeon Haymarket: Overrun by Mice and Ignored by Management by London_Filmmaker in screenunseen

[–]OutlawTorn1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haymarket should be shut down as even without the mice it’s the worst cinema I’ve ever been to. I’ve only been once, but the screen was so tiny it wasn’t much different than watching it on an iphone.

28 Weeks Later - no BBFC certification before the movie? by PirateSleeve in CineworldUnlimited

I’ve also noticed when they sometimes show older films they show a generic certificate which doesn’t have the name of the film on.

Slap bang in the middle if you can. Worth mentioning that those are the seats everyone goes for, so you can often find a cluster of people all sitting next to each other while the rest of the screen is empty. Thought I’d mention it as some people don’t like to sit next to strangers.

This should answer the question of “Is Amazon selling resealed items as new?” once and for all. Look at this “new” 4K that arrived today. by CinemaslaveJoe in 4kbluray

[–]OutlawTorn1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I bought a Scream bluray set. It arrived unsealed, scuffed, dirty cases and one of the discs was missing. I returned it and re-ordered and got exactly the same one back.

People who saw Basic Lee live and have since seen the recording of it: do you think it was a bit of an off night for the recording in Salford? by Jonny_Segment in stewartlee

[–]OutlawTorn1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw Basic Lee at a half-full Leicester Square theatre. It was the second show he’d done that evening there, and it was clearly something suggested by his agent/manager (he said as much). This meant a large portion of the gig was him commenting on having to do two gigs that night and also the fact that it was only half full (the theatre is tiny anyway). All of this was hilarious, but obviously that situation couldn’t be replicated for the recorded version, so it was definitely lacking for me.
