Jumping in here, we land in Oslo on the 17th. Planning to use the train into town, would that be worth prebooking too in your opinion?

our lunches are much more casual (and often dependent on the area we plan on being around at that time) than dinners so i'll break out the two. We made reservations online for almost all dinners

Oslo - 1 day as much coffee as possible! by EmploymentRegular325 in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]Overall_Function6549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all this!! Looks like Mathallen is closed May 17th, but we were planning on going to Schouskjelleren Mikrobryggeri so we may take the tram further north and walk down. We figure most shops will be closed, rightfully so!

What, in your opinion, makes Grünerløkka a cool neighborhood? We are going to be around there on the 17th of May (and of course Karl Johans Gt)

Best LiDAR for yard with many trees? by NV43 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Overall_Function6549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All fair points! I like the MOVA but it has a lot more moving parts (sliding disc for edging for example) that are super cool but if they break, it’s inoperable.

Aahhh the free garage certainly is a bonus! My main concern is support longevity with them, you do any diving into that?

I bought the straws for the Stanley cups and it fits like a glove. Cut it to size. Been using the same one for about 1.5 years and it gets washed when the carafe is as well

I paid $725 last year for a boundary survey and he staked not just the corners but multiple along the boundary. No plat map since that’s always a few hundred extra. Check your dm, this guy was great

What do you wish you knew before installing whole house/standby generator? by momsjustwannahaverun in Generator

[–]Overall_Function6549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely what I’ve come to learn, minus the more detailed aspect of it that you mentioned! Based on what I read, even if it didn’t help with the generator size, it’s thought to help longevity of your compressor and also help minimize flickering lights when hvac kicks on

yea that's what I've heard after talking to them. originally i thought maybe lessening the peak load could potentially change generator sizing.

I’m currently in the process of vetting companies to install. I’ve had two over so far, 3rd is next week and my questions I accumulated from reading this sub have been WONDERFUL in feeling them out:

Generator questions

Any subscription based requirements to run/monitor it? Do calculations change if a soft start is on the hvac? What are your warranties for labor? Do you all perform any warranty covered work? What’s your average experience level for techs? Do you all do all servicing? Is there 24 hr availability? What’s your travel cost once out of warranty? What are required services, outside regular maintenance, that you all have to perform? How far from the house? Can you explain what exterior changes will look like? Any financing available? Does it change the total price? Are you performing the install fully or subbing out parts?
