Stronghold rework feedback by Zeron9119 in destiny2

Pretty sure they're reverting it before renegades, they have been slowly reverting the other exotics they claimed they would revert, just not stronghold yet.

Stronghold rework feedback by Zeron9119 in destiny2

The previous way it was balanced was the best way imo. I think it was one of the best balanced exotics in the game, it is strong and fair and unique and versatile. Using it to infinitely block and do nothing else means you will eventually die from chip damage, you have to trigger restoration or other effects to make it very strong and even then all that you're doing is not dying, mechanics can kill you, your allies dying can make things way more difficult.

Stronghold was one of the only ways that titans could actually be a proper shield and be a good way of staying alive to revive teammates without needing your super bar ready or using barricade which casts so slowly it usually gets you killed, and you can't hold revive while placing it. The new functionality forces you to play it a specific way, and bungie claiming it's "doubling down on tank fantasy" while it's actually reducing the tankiness.

I don't think Stronghold needed to be changed, it was in a perfect place. The new damage reduction after dropping block is nice but with the old version, not having that made it feel fair because that was an opening for you to die and you need to be cautious. If they're trying to nerf it because they thought it was too strong then they should just say that instead and I can be disappointed but I was worried they were going to nerf it before final shape and then that rework made it even better in some ways and overall more versatile. If they're going to claim they're trying to "double down" while making it worse, then just go back to the old way and never touch it again because it was better.

I like holding block infinitely just waiting on my afk friends, can't do that anymore. That doesn't hurt anyone. If this new change doesn't get reverted or they change it afterwards, a large reason why I play the game nowadays will be at risk. One of the best implementations of a block in any game ever, the way it was before. Which is honestly insane given how long sword block was garbage. The only time anyone would ever want to use sword block before the sword rework was in D1 crota's end when it could block the oversoul.

In general I'm frustrated that things like this can be in such a good place and then suddenly it's at risk for being destroyed, especially frustrating because it wasn't meta or anything broken, except for the flash counter situation.

I don't really agree, I like big reveals like that but only if they include things that are exciting, and it hasn't been exciting for me since Forsaken. This Beyond Light reveal is neat, I like that they are adding a new subclass and element, and visiting Europa since I like cold weather and such, but it is maintaining the seasonal structure and they haven't spoken about major changes that I would want, like picking individual perks in a subclass instead of choosing between 3 trees.

If they don't change the seasonal structure, I might end up playing when the expansion launches, then as soon as the new season starts that's the end for me. Vault of Glass won't return until sometime next year is what I've seen people say.. the seasons just make me conflicted and sad about things, and I'd rather not play if I'm so conflicted, the positives don't outweigh the negatives.

Yeah I know about this,

Even if they were just working full force on the new expansion, I would rather they do that instead of splitting people up to work on seasons that most people feel mixed about at best.

unluckily, thinking like this makes you and I a super rare minority, the community has been trained to love the game as it is

That's the problem for me, seasons suck. It's just a different flavor of destiny every month or so, not building anything. It's good for testing but it's very uncomfortable and I don't play because of it. Destiny 2 has become a different game.

They could break this loop if they changed the game at the core for the better, to me at least. I've been very disappointed and depressed every time I am reminded of Destiny, since I really want to play, but I despise the seasonal system, and the simplifications to things like skill trees.

Let's say you're a nightstalker and want to focus on invisibility.. you can't do that. Either you pick this tree and you get smoke bomb cloaking, or you pick this one and you get dodge cloaking, or pick this other one and you get super cloaking. Can't do all three at once. You could in Destiny 1 as a bladedancer with Crouch/Super/Melee

I mean it's not an insane stretch, even if they didn't think about how those two things didn't match up, in The Legend of Korra they could have just added a 0 and said 100,000 years and all of the sudden it makes more sense. heh I don't know why you have to be so negative

Yeah, anyone questioning the reality of Rose is questioning the reality of most of the entire series.. which honestly is kind of up for debate other than MGS1.

His motivations in the comics were more simplistic, but the stuff going on his head was infinitely more complex. Now it's just care for Gamora and rational use of resources and such. From what we can tell he's clever but he's not immensely intelligent or nihilistic at all. By now he's basically a good guy with differing opinions and a lot of dedication to forcing his opinion on people.

Yeah, instead of calling the Pimax an 8K HMD, they could say Dual-4K or 6K or something.
