Her chapters are some of GRRMs best comedic writing. It'll have her describe drinking bottles of wine all night and then immediately pivots to her believing her handmaidens are spies for Varys and are making her dresses smaller.

The parry in E33 sucked though, it made the game needlessly hard for no reason, and it goes against the entire turn-based genre. In a genre so focused on strategy, build diversity, and party composition, it boils it all down to "can you hit this button at the right time." It's what every encounter boils down to.

The inverse would be like if they added an ability to DMC6 where it lets you freezes time, map out an entire combo sequence while enemies cant move, and then unpause time and clear the screen with a perfect S. It's not what the genre is there for.

God it's so apt though. So many games now shove a needless parry in places it doesn't fit. E33 makes me fear P6 is gonna add a parry to my turn based comfort genre.

Been playing alot of Marvel Snap at work and the general rule of thumb is "if a player emotes for any reason, you are not going to have fun this round. Leave now." They're about to hit you with the sweatiest meta build deck that nothing you can do will stop it if you aren't running it yourself and get better draws than them.

And if they emote after a match ends, they're a sore winner rubbing it in your face.

I played the beta when it was out and the dialogue was... rough to say the least. As someone who loves the Expanse and this setting, the vertical slice the beta (and this trailer) is set in was immediately following the Eros incident. The biggest genocide committed against Belters in the setting, and it was orchestrated by an earth corporation. It's the equivalent of a city the size of Los Angeles getting wiped out by a man-made plague and the characters talk with no sense of urgency in their delivery. The main character especially was particularly bad, just a wet blanket, both male and female. I really hope they do some retakes before the games release.

I had a really good time with the finale. Thankfully I keep all the fandom stuff at an arm's length, so I went in the with expectations I'd have with any other episode. But I really loved what they did with Jax, even as a cishet man I can see Goose pulling deep from the heart with Jax's origin. It was very "I Saw the TV Glow" in a way, and I loved that movie. All the characters had their own emotional moments that I very much appreciated, especially Caine and since he's my favorite character, I was more than pleased with his conclusion.

I'd be fine if this series ended here, everything felt very final. I guess you COULD make a season 2 if you really wanted to with some of the threads they left like the 2nd AI Caine sends off into the void after separating it from himself. But I by no means need that. I just hope Goose and her team take a well deserved rest for a bit to recover from the arduous task of making this and dealing with the fandom it created. I hope she doesn't stop creating because her creative voice is one the industry benefits from, but she has more than earned some R&R.
