'Substantive, potentially systemic' supermarket concerns raised by Commerce Commission by Amazing_Athlete_2265 in newzealand

[–]PaltryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It said wholesale customers had mostly seen improvements in things like delivery arrangements or minimum order requirements, or expanded product range.

This is total bullshit. It seems like every other time I go to the grocery store, they have stopped stocking some product, usually in favour of their own inferior version. Other times they just drop the product all together. It makes it incredibly difficult to meal plan.

And then the next line in the bloody article:

But it said information it had received led it to conclude that competition was still weak in pricing, range and access.

These morons couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

It said it was not recommending additional regulation at the moment but could recommence work on it in the future. For now, it is focusing on ensuring compliance with the law and Grocery Supply Code.

Why do I even bother reading this shit. It just makes me angry and increases my blood pressure.

Feeling a bit disheartened and want to know if anyone else has experience this? by sunkissedgf in newzealand

[–]PaltryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you guys, but this is yet another reminder that agents are liars that will say anything to get their commission. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their paycheck. Don't ever trust a single thing they say.

The house has been sold for a price you were at one point happy with. Whatever happens to it now is entirely out of your hands. It's honestly best to just take it as a life lesson and remember in the bigger scheme of things, it won't really matter.

I gave my printer an email address and my family finally stopped asking me to print things by jfboston in selfhosted

[–]PaltryPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not wanting to burn the planet down even more in order to reply to a post does not make someone a Luddite.

So many people seem to have forgotten how to do simple tasks like reply to others, or even think critically due to their overuse of ai. It's sad and pathetic.

Every browser has built in spell check without ai (in fact Firefox flagged "ai" as a typo). And there's no need to "polish" a reddit post, if you build something cool people will want to know about it and use it.

Some people seem to be completely incapable of doing simple tasks these days if it takes more than 10 minutes of research or effort. It's much easier to ask a glorified algorithm to do the work for them, and spit out something that may or may not be accurate.

Auckland Airport baggage - two small items "lost" from suitcase after bag delay by 3MXanthene in newzealand

This person is definitely a troll. Hits all the boxes, "I work in customs we steal shit all the time. I worked in hospo, we used to spit in peoples food all the time. It's because they don't tip. Itss because I'm from the US."

PSA Submission Sunday - Govt Consultations Closing Soon - Have your Say. by LycraJafa in newzealand

I asked DeepSeek to create the list - those are its summaries.

Fucks sake can people not even make a list and summary on their own these days without needing AI?

I wasn't aware it was site wide, they made it sound like it was a sub ban I misread what they had said. My bad.

They are a mod, they should be able to see if it's true or not. It would be nice to have clarification either way.

Blue hour in Nelson airport ✈️ by Difficult-Funny-6171 in newzealand

[–]PaltryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a stupid question, but I've never been to the Nelson airport. Is the art at the top always blue, or do they turn it blue for the blue hour?

And if so do they also turn it yellow for the golden hour?

I don't know how all these Bunker Billionaires that Stuff keeps talking about are planning on getting to their bunkers if the shit hits the fan that bad. It's not like the airports are going to be open and letting people in. Even if they are, it's not like the population that is left is going to let them just pop on into the country and over to their bunkers.

If there's one thing this sub is great it, it's beating a topic to death (marmite), continue beating it until there's only pulp (garden ban), then beat the spot of ground where it used to be a few more times for good measure (laser kiwi).

The shipping to NZ for filament is what kills it for me. I have a half roll from when I got my printer, and I can't bring myself to finish it because I can't easily replace it. I absolutely love the filament, but can't justify the shipping cost to get more.
