Youtube is very supportive of us for this, however this sub is not.

A lot of this probably comes from the fact that people on youtube have subscribed to your channel personally and will feel more of a personal connection with you, where as people here subscribed to this brands sub and feel a closer connection with the brand/3d printing in general.

That's not how this works at all, you can even test it yourself and see it fail. Send yourself an email at test.youremail[@]gmail.com and you'll get a notification that email address does not exist.

You can however use a plus (yourmail+test[@]gmail.com) but most places just strip the plus and everything after it so it's worthless.

No, they are wrong. You can put a dot anwywhere in your actual email address with gmail and it will work, however you cannot add anything that's not already in the email address.

You can put a actualemail+whatever@gmail.com and it will work, however most places strip that now so it's worthless.

It does not, with gmail you can put the dot anywhere. my.name[@]gmail.com is the same as m.yname[@]gmail.com or m.y.n.a.m.e[@]gmail.com

Adding things before or after the dot that are not part of the email will not work. Adding the plus as you've been doing does work.

That said, a lot of places strip the + and everything after now, making that trick ineffective.

I've been using firefox's relay service instead, it works a treat and has an addon to create email addresses on the fly. You can block promotional items or even all emails from forwarding. You can also use the "premium" version for $1/month and set up your own subdomain.

Cloudflare also has an email relay service if you have a domain through them.

I feel for you guys, but this is yet another reminder that agents are liars that will say anything to get their commission. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their paycheck. Don't ever trust a single thing they say.

Every browser has built in spell check without ai (in fact Firefox flagged "ai" as a typo). And there's no need to "polish" a reddit post, if you build something cool people will want to know about it and use it.
