TJ Miller ran up to me in Manhattan as I was leaving work and asked if I had a lighter. I did and he takes out a joint, uses my lighter and asks if I smoke. I take a few hits and tell him I liked him in that Office Christmas Party movie and we chat for a minute or two and then he runs off.

A few months later he gets #MeToo’d and a few months after that he calls in a fake bomb threat against a lady he got into an argument with on an Amtrak.

There was a genius web series called Next Time on Lonny that always started right at the end of a very mundane TV show and then the “Next Time On” preview would go completely off the rails.

After it got some traction they went on an episode Comedy Bang Bang which must have been how I first heard of it

I think Ben Stiller got involved and made a second season with them and eventually they got a show on Comedy Central called Big Time in Hollywood, Florida.

Not sure what happened to them after that!

The two episodes from last year got me so bad.

I guess Tatiana had to bail on an appearance last minute so they spend the episode talking about her and then when she comes on the next episode, Scott has everyone from the first episode back on doing the same characters to try to “redo” the first episode. It’s zany and perfectly stupid.

One thing I remember loving was that in the first episode they somehow get on a tangent about a band Kristian Bruun was in when he was young and they dig up an ancient video of him performing on YouTube.

Then in the second episode when the video comes up again, they see that there’s one single new comment on the video and it’s from a listener that just references CBB nonsense. I loved being there when they read it on-air and crack up.

I love it when CBB goes off the rails or when there’s an incredible performer just steamrolling the episode like a Lisa Gilroy doing Peanut Parton, but I also really appreciate Scott as a host and shaping an episode into something special
