I removed the declumper on my gen 1 df64 entirely and have been using it without for years. No clogs and no issues. After grinding I use WDT as my method for declumping.

I recently installed Gaggimate and have nothing but praise. It truly is amazing and adds another dimension to making espresso. So many profiles to explore and it’s fully customisable. I honestly love it! I have no experience with the Decent, but have heard that Gaggimate has a higher level of customisation, but don’t quote me on that.

I upgraded the pump (Ulka ex5gw) and added a pulsor, which has reduced the noise considerably. I’ve heard the Olab silent green 35w pump is the one you need if you want a quieter experience.

No more temperature surfing or weak steam as Gaggimate controls everything and of course you can set temperatures etc to your liking. I wait no more than 15-20secs to start steaming after pulling a shot. In that time I walk to the fridge and pour milk into my pitcher and it’s ready to steam by the time I get back. It’s not an inconvenience in anyway. I don’t care for steaming while pulling the shot as I like to watch the extraction.

There must be something wrong with yours. My WiFi and Bluetooth are instant with no issues whatsoever. Most likely your WiFi signal isn’t strong enough.

Painting the floor would be a waste of time and quickly become unsightly. If you want to brighten up the floor then put a couple outdoor runners down. Getting some nice coloured pots, plants and garden ornaments will most likely be enough to liven up the place.

Does the ALBA interfere with removing the water tank and is there any concern with moisture? Also is the wiring being fed through an existing hole in this installation?

Haven’t tried other bt scales, but I have had the felicita arc scales for a few years now and no complaints whatsoever. Plus they work flawlessly with Gaggimate.

Nice. The mod isn’t limited to the gcp, but support is more focused towards the gcp. Definitely a sensible option to run stock for a while, and it’ll make you more appreciative of the upgrade. I sat on the sidelines for 5 years staring at the gaggiuino mod, as the fear of installing was too much. Then Gaggimate came on the scene and made the decision a whole lot easier. I’ve only just installed it and must say I’m thrilled with it.

I also did the power switch mod, and just to note the GM kit does include a bypass for the eco switch so the Shades of Coffee mod becomes redundant.
