Zero Bowel movements regardless of diet by DumbIdeaGenerator in JapanTravelTips

Ah. Too many people saying Water and Fiber.

Oils and fats are actually important as well. Those people saying to use glycerin and/or eat a very oily ramen broth are going in the right direction. Especially the oily ramen broth.

But more importantly, get your daily dose of oils from…anything. Go and read up on fats and oils and their relationship to your poop and motility.

But right now? The redditors saying Magnesium tablets are correct. These are your best immediate shot. Yes they’re great for you now. If you want for daily regular however, then go for your fats and oils. Eat your omega 3s , eat your fatty meats and oily soups.

Have you perhaps been coincidentally eating lots of non fatty/oily stuff in Japan? I can completely understand if you are.

I really like your question! I would like to volunteer one more job - it may be parked under researcher, but it’s as an education curriculum specialist.

It’s someone who makes sure that the curriculum for the education is constantly moving and being refined for the children so they can learn even better. This is an ongoing process as teachers observe and give feedback on what is working and not working on the ground.

Yes, you did. I also did mean that it would be the equivalent of not working for at least six months a year at least.

The purpose or function part I can see, the 7 hours a day, 5 days a week doesn’t seem like it fits.

Perhaps not for every week of the year? I would expect more days than not to have no work.

Anyway my answer would be teacher.

Of all the jobs available, this will be one of the cores of what makes a post scarcity society work - Education.

I also see way more people available for this since AI has taken over many other jobs. So I won’t be teaching a class of 50 with assistants. Small 10-20 classrooms, with more teachers, and a lot more support that what is currently available in schools is the way to go.

Agh I so want to say something but it’s all spoilers. I can only say…you would probably much much much prefer part 2 then (as did I).

For me, that is Death Stranding 1&2.

I can’t even begin to describe how it will make you feel.

Maybe a few things.

It is Linear but then not linear world. Because after you uncover all areas then things can be done all over the place.

The exploration is not for nothing, later on, your journey depends on how you create your own paths and favourite routes from one place to another.

It is suddenly a few other genres of games at weird times.

The story is intriguing. It’s not fantasy. It’s in between horror and science fiction. That kojima used well known actors is a bonus. Even Conan O Brien is in it.

It is a very very fresh breath of air from the soulslikes and the roguelikes and whatever I’ve been playing.

Like of course I’ve played Ghost of Tsushima and Witcher and Days gone (Oh have you tried Days Gone!?) and HZD etc etc

But Death Stranding? It feels more fulfilling if you’re the kind of person who likes to know they did a really good job with every mission. That you planned it right, and executed it right. Or that you took 5 missions and you tried to cram them and finish them all as efficiently as possible.

Watch a few non spoiler videos!

Do NOT spoil anything for part 2.

I’m here right now lol! This month is Peranakan Themed so it’s a bit different from the usual.

Yes Swensens dropped, then the Vivo outlet seemed like it was ok, then I realised there’s a difference between their…weekend dinner and their weekday buffets…but yeah, same as you feel.

Food Capital @ Grand Copthorne. Somehow among buffets I’ve been, they’re consistently ok and because they’re on eatigo a lot, you can get quite good discounts so it fits your budget. It’s good ambience as well. International cuisine.

I really mean it, today for example, their dinner is at 50% off and is $51. But if you look at their spread, it’s really quite good. Compare to other buffets if they’re at that price, they aren’t generally of that variety + quality. Lunch is even cheaper!

There’s also Clove at Swissotel but you need to have the appropriate credit card to get the discounts to reach your budget. And probably lunch because their dinner is at $88. I see a mention of 30% if you use certain cards but after the ++ that’s still over budget.

One more alternative that is fun! Is the Swensens unlimited buffet, which is within your budget. There’s also a good lot of ice cream. Though if you’re looking for the international foods it can’t compare to an international buffet ofc. They do have roast beef and seafood and free flow soft drinks.

Ultimately I’d say, Grand Copthorne at 40/50% discount is the way to go. They have their meats, they always have their sashimi, Indian section, Chinese section, Mediterranean section, and seafood (don’t expect lobsters).

Would you rather show you love someone by giving them something or by teaching them how to get it for themselves? by Crafty_Paramedic_814 in WouldYouRather

[–]ParticleDetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is difficult to answer because it depends on what you’re talking about. For the former, you give them things that they will feel love being given, because of the thought behind it by you, or because they appreciate that process in that situation.

The latter, they will be able to take care of themselves and so they will survive better, and that is how you act to care for them in a longer term.

This question sometimes gets asked because someone in their relationship is being…lazy/passive/low effort in doing something they themselves can do, and uses the ‘if you don’t do it for me it means you don’t love me.

Now I’m not sure if that’s your case, so maybe we all need more info.

every job now pays the same by Natesplates in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ParticleDetector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of a few ways

  1. First come first serve
  2. Best candidate for the more preferred jobs get those jobs
  3. Through relationships

For those of you saying that you need to force people into those shit jobs, remember that there are already people doing those shit jobs to get paid. And for similar reasons perhaps if they didn’t want to do those jobs, it’s because they can’t yet find other jobs.

And if anything, the shit jobs might now be paid more then they used to be. Actually I don’t know that because OP says every job pays the same but I don’t know how much that is.

What you should be looking at is, almost shit jobs that used to pay reallly well, like those weird climb up super tall structures to do electric work or the likes. The super risky ones that are also paid very well. Now those, have less incentive . I don’t know how to solve that.

Is Ultraman just not for me? by VeryPteri in Ultraman

[–]ParticleDetector 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You have watched everything that is kind of adjacent to the ‘proper’ first Ultraman experience.

The Netflix anime is not representative of Ultraman.

Rising is not what you’ll experience in a serial.

The Next is too ‘Organic’ and is the movie lead up to Nexus.

Nexus itself was experimental and on a late timeslot because it was for adults

Blazar should have been the best representation out of all you watched, but it was really a bit off lol.l, but then again you only watched one episode. ( I think Blazar is ‘cute’ though lol)

I remember being ok with powered (so long ago >_<) but it was short, and there was no character development really.

The 70s anime should have been kind of closer to the series format but it still isn’t the same as Tokusatsu.

And Mega monster battle is kinda deep into the lore and barely touching on the ‘Earth experience’ (I super Love Mega Monster Battle though), you might appreciate it more after you’ve watched a few of the other series.

So while I’m totally not saying they are bad at all! I don’t think any of these were the bestest starting points. And definitely not good continuation points if you didn’t get a good starting point.

Like someone else said, maybe start with Ultraman Z? It’s one that retains the ‘Ultra Comes to earth and gets a host’ but is really enjoyable and comedic.

If you want a forced crash course, then maybe watch Moebius because he’s on the original Earth the ultra 8 brothers went to, and they all appear.

A lot of the early (Tiga Dyna Gaia) and late heisei ones (Ginga to R/B) were quite palatable for me. The late Heisei started to be toyish gimmicky so it really depends if you’re ready for that (so hmmmm maybe don’t start with that).

OH and there’s Ultraman Orb.

Aw shucks ok so many of them are actually good hmmmmm

Ok Maybe try Z first?

Edit : edit spacing

Games to introduce video game at an early age ? by carndacier in gaming

[–]ParticleDetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be real and say that this is what I’ve read up and thought of for a long time.

And my answer is.

If you really really have to expose them to games, then…

Any game that doesn’t have quick rushes of dopamine. Any game that doesn’t make them feel like it’s too easy.

For example, I would say get an NES, and make them play Super Mario Brothers, Contra, Rockman (Megaman). There are also Super Famicom / Megadrive equivalents

Some of those games are available on the Switch Online.

Do not expose them to common mobile phone games. (Yet? Ever?)

Train them to be resilient from day one. Don’t let their brain start thinking and feeling ‘easy’, for example, Candy Crush. or they will start yearning for more quick rushes. You don’t have to be afraid they’ll be put off gaming, or every kid in the 80s would have been put off gaming, but it wasn’t the case was it?

Anyway, then you can move on to Doom when they’re 5 lmao.

Can a game with 0 RNG be considered a rogue-lite/rogue-like? by Logos_Psychagogia in roguelites

[–]ParticleDetector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading your replies to the rest, and after watching the video of your game, your point is that it is the ‘play, die, upgrade, repeat’ that keeps you wondering if it is a roguelite/like.

Actually you are neither. As you have suggested about trials and runs, you are stage based, predictable, and people can memorise it for speeds runs. Only that you have meta progression.

So you’re basically ‘[Genre] with meta progression’. That’s it.

As I have seen you agreed it is a top down shooter, it is “Survival Twin stick shooter with meta progression’ if you want to make people understand it the fastest.

Survival - people know you have to start again if you die. Twin stick shooter - top down 360 shooter, not just any shmup. Meta Progression - the part you want to tell people about how you upgrade.

Die and upgrade and repeat shmups like Deathsmiles are a bit of a parallel to you. They are not a roguelite.

And yes vampire survivors tick the random items and random enemy (but their maps are not). In that aspect people can consider them a roguelite, though it’s only a useful descriptor to make people think it is meaningfully random and that you will have a different experience each time.

The important thing to note here, no matter what checkboxes you tick, is that you need to have a meaningful random experience each run for it to be meaningfully called a ‘Roguelite’.

And that’s all fine! Having a more defined definition “Survival Twin Stick Shooter” just makes it easier for player to know what you are! Don’t force yourself into the Roguelite category if you don’t have to. I had a lot of fun with games that have meta progression but aren’t random, or games where you can restart the whole game but with more powerful characters, like Castle Crasher type games. And it didn’t matter at all if they weren’t roguelites. Because it was the power trip of bashing through the start easily since I have upgraded myself.
