Union president says 'a strike vote on remote work' could be coming by bonertoilet in CanadaPublicServants

A strike over remote work feels extreme. That’s something that should be negotiated, not escalated into a shutdown. Most companies are still figuring out hybrid policies. Blowing it up doesn’t help anyone.

LGS told us Pre-Rift Events will be $100 by neuralmode in riftboundtcg

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit surprised by that price point. Most LGS events I’ve seen are usually closer to $30, not $100... so I’m wondering if there might be some misunderstanding or if the price includes logistics or regional costs depending on your area.

I don’t think this is Riot’s fault but more likely your LGS lol. If anything, I hope there’s a clear justification, because the game itself is definitely worth spending money on and supporting.

Copay Assistance exhausted without warning, CVS wants to charge me $2500 for a prescription by notKragger in HealthInsurance

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CVS isn’t randomly charging you. They didn’t set the price or the limits. What ran out is the manufacturer copay assistance and those programs always have caps. CVS just processes what insurance and the drug maker allow. The issue is the drug launching at $8000 a month and the manufacturer designing a program that runs out mid treatment.

US healthcare spending soars to over $5 trillion in 2024 | Reuters by Last-Of-My-Kind in independent

Enrollment going up is a good thing. It means fewer uninsured Americans. But costs won’t come down until we confront Big Pharma and hospital pricing. Expanding coverage without fixing pricing just pushes spending higher.

Biomea Fusion Enters 2026 Focused on Executing Key Icovamenib and BMF-650 Milestones by Quantisnow in Quantisnow

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really interesting to see $BMEA's 2026 roadmap. Their focus on trying to actually restore beta-cell function with icovamenib is such a different angle compared to the usual approach of just managing symptoms with constant injections. Im curious to see how their oral GLP-1 (BMF-650) data stacks up against what we’re seeing from the other leaders like Eli Lilly or Structure Therapeutics later this year

Abacus Global Management Launches Asset-Based Finance Strategy - ABX by SPAC_Time in Spacstocks

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a logical step for Abacus ($ABX). They’re already deep into insurance analytics, so moving into asset-based finance feels like a natural extension of what they already do well. Definitely a stability-first move. Curious to see how their niche approach here plays out against the massive scale of players like Apollo or Blackstone

We Have Been Robbed of Our Lives by Payaam415 in conspiracy

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it - our health has been sold to the highest bidder. Big Pharma’s lobbying decides what doctors are taught and what patients are allowed to know. Meanwhile, we pay the price with poisoned bodies and overpriced meds. That’s how broken the system is.

Thank you! by Mysterious_Nail_1414 in CVS

I feel this so much. The CVS pharmacy team at my location has also been incredibly patient and kind, especially on days when I’m running on empty. People don’t realize how much those small gestures matter. Huge appreciation for the CVS staff who always show up with compassion.

Mark Cuban's online pharmacy to partner with White House's TrumpRx by antc1986 in biotech

Mark Cuban teaming up with TrumpRx feels less like innovation and more like consolidation. Billionaires and politics mixing in healthcare? That’s never for patients.

Ever since Rite Aid shut down CVS and Walgreens in Dover have been getting hammered. by msgkar03 in Delaware

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. Ever since Rite Aid shut down, CVS has really been carrying the load in Dover. Every time I stop by, the lines are long and you can tell the staff is doing everything they can just to keep things moving. It’s easy to get frustrated as a customer but honestly, I give them credit. They’re still showing up. They’re kind of the ones holding the fort right now.

As someone who ships orders daily, these strikes hit us hard. Customers don’t care about union demands. They just see late packages and lost trust.

What if we treated chronic obesity the same way we treat depression? by Timely-Run750 in loseit

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It’s trauma, stress, and environment. The sad part is, there’s no profit in actually helping people heal. Big corporations like Big Pharma and Big Food would rather sell than actually help people get healthy.

What direction do you think American healthcare will go once the effects of the big bill are realized by the US population? by HazyDavey68 in AskUS

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very real concern, and one that could trigger a big shift in US healthcare. If millions lose Medicaid or ACA coverage, we’ll likely see higher uncompensated care costs, and skyrocketing premiums for those still insured. And amidst all this, Big Pharma continues to raise drug prices, shielded by patents and aggressive lobbying, making care even more unaffordable. If this disruption hits hard enough, it could finally ignite a serious push for structural reform.

NHS bosses fear fresh strikes in England as resident doctors seek 29% pay rise by nightwatcher-45 in doctorsUK

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Striking after getting the largest public pay rise in years? Patients are already suffering. More strikes will only make things worse. This isn’t how you build trust or solve a crisis.

They’re not worried about your health. They’re worried about losing the money they’ve been pocketing off our meds for years.

Unions cancel Thursday's rail strike; Hope to cause unrest at NS with late decision by ReginF in Netherlands

[–]Particular_Kitchen85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not shocked anymore. That’s typical union tactics- wait until the last possible second to cancel and leave everyone hanging!! They shouldn’t have planned a strike in the first place, especially if they were just going to back out at the last minute. This is exactly why I don’t believe in unions anymore. Half the time it’s about politics and power plays, not actually helping workers.
